I have another thread going on this cart... however,
I read 'some' threads on seats on this forum... but, very few/no 'rants/raves'. I find opinions are like a slap to the face... some like, some don't... some 'learn' from one, some don't. I fall into the category of one that likes the attention and learns from criticism(majority rulez). I'd like to 'share' this seat in hopes that someone will find the images either appealing or disgusting(so I know how a general audience/consumer would opinionate the work).
...and yes I know..."it's just a 'chair'(someplace to put ur posterior)..." but to the one making it... its a 'seat'(THE place to cradle ur rump)!
So I guess if you are reading this and have nothing to 'say' either a  or :ack2: would be appreciated...

Yea i thought that too... but visually the woodgrain grabbed the eyes too much, for me. Hence the black blended the seat in w/ the body instead of the body/frame blending in w/ the seat. I wasnt trying to make the 'seat' the focal point of the cart.

Cool seat half breeder, but nice as it is to have your prison cell #(28304), the rest of the FREE WORLD would like to know where you live.

28304= Fayetteville NC. Stones throw from Fort Bragg (home of the 82nd and Chuck Norris). Lots of clay, sand and 'red-necks' here.

Thanks I knew it was a zip code but figured it was easier to pester the answer out of you than research it myself. Why not add it to your profile. There are worse places to live like........well North Carolina is. ......I mean. ...oh H#ll just use the zip code. :lolgoku::backtotopic:

That's got a great, true, hot rod look to it (isn't "Old School" horribly overused???)
The hole in the bottom of the seat really does make me think it'd be an interesting toilet seat!

I think I like it better with the black vinyl over the natural woodgrain even though I usually hock up a hairball when I see wood on a go kart. (I know it's just a seat, but it's a natural reaction). Since you've painted the wood, I guess there's no going back without a copious amount of work. Got a Mexican blanket?

Love the tool pouch.

Doc your the first person to say something bout that tool pouch... ty. Yes i agree the term "old school" is way over used. Yea i can remove the paint (paint remover)... but I too catch myself wanting to puke alil when i see 'wood' on a cart...especially when it's a hunk of wood half the size of the kart! If I stayed w/ the factory red frame I may have been more willing to keep the wood grain. besides, if I were to reproduce this seat...I would just make it out of plastic or fiberglass n vinyl sticker a wood grain upon it... but Im stickin w/ the black on black w/ red accents n chrome motor accents(chrome shop down the street) on 'this' cart.

I about spit soda thru my nose when i read your toilet seat comment...LMAO. yea i gotta mexican blanket... but those things dont stay on vinyl worth a ****(like putting a plastic suit on a greased up pig).

LOL. I had originally ignored the pouch, as I often stop and take shots of my stuff with tools and parts scattered about. Then, I noticed it was actually attached! Very cool, adds to the overall effect.

Yea, being half Japanese (moms side), ive learned the value of usefulness, in confined areas. I swear my mom used to put 10lbs of stuff in a 5lbs bag! Lol, n my dad was a minimalist(nothing w/out a use for it...anti-redneck basically...lol) so when i saw my cigs (seen in the video...other thread)n the wrench i mainly use, becoming harder n harder to find the faster i got "Lo-T"(the name i game my kart... embassing story...) I saw a 'need' for some type of holding apparatus. I went in the shed, saw the old tool belt hangin on the wall n thought it had that 'look' i was trying to keep. Then i looked down n saw n old metal ammo box(12"x5"x8" I think... 'just' right size to mount on old motor plate, after i install the differential axle i got planned, n move motor over)... hmmmm i think the rattleing would be too obtrusive... scratch the box idea...lol.

Now THAT'S funny right there... I use ammo cans all over the place! I recently installed one as a toolbox on my MULE project. If it rattles, alter/remove the handle, and/or apply foam padding to the inside. I also tore the crappy factory toolbox off my quad and hung an ammo can under there. On my old go kart (The Red Rocket) I modified an ammo can to serve as the battery box.

I liked seeing the wood... but either way, it look great.
You may have inspired me somewhat if I ever come across any seats like/similar to that

Ive been meaning to get some more ammo cans, but most are always too much it seams. Doc, how much did you shell out for yours?
Local gun shops has some rusted ones for $5 I might look into getting some..
Fan of cheap here lol

Really? You may want to replace the word "often".Just saying-you know where you go for lying. "Always" seems to be rolling around in my head for some reason.....
I can't throw any stones- anybody know how to remove wrench shaped rust stains from concrete?
Why do my neighbors mow their lawns without any clunk-stop? How is that possible? :lolgoku:

I happened to take 1 pic of the seat 'unpainted' and mounted. 'Lo-T' is dirty/covered in dried clay(city doing road construction in my neighborhood), Im tryin to keep it clean'ish' for the most part(washed it today).

IMO the seat seems to be the 'main' focal-point of the cart...and 'that' is not what im going for. Im going for correct era'ish' look, while keeping a consistent UNIFORM appearance(tryin to make it look 'less' like i just 'threw' the cart together w/ junk from the shed...) painting it 'blended' the "overall" uniformity. Also, being that everything is black on black on black, one has to pay more attention to 'detail' to notice the usefulness of everything I did on 'Lo-T'.
