You could get one of those headset torches and figure out a way to strap it to the frame of your kart. If not bright enough get more torches.

Unless you have an alternator and battery it will be a pain to get proper headlights because you would have to change the batteries.

I would say it depends on the kart, you'd have to find some sort of lights that you're willing to use. With most regular engines that don't have some sort of generator or alternator on them, you'd probably have to use batteries, preferably something high capacity, like lead acid or gel cell.

Or just strap on some $10 headlights from WalMart, and a $20 12V 8aH battery from Academy.

There'd be some good options if you go to any petal bike shop. Depending on how bright you need and how long you want it to last. I have 2 BLT lights for mountain biking and they're REALLY bright, but dont last super long before they need recharging. Cat Eye lights are alot cheaper, and still pretty bright. These are just quick fixes if you don't want to add alternators and such.

u need a bike generator. rides on the tire put out sum gud stuff if u rig it right.they are built for a large wheel at like 3 v but on a smaller wheel they will crank out a lot more. for instance i put one from a 27 in bike on a 20 in bike and it blew the bulbs out cus its spining more
id try that first

No because its based upon the circumfrence of the wheel. What about a bike generator and voltage regulators?

Think about it some more, I'm sure you will see why changing the wheel circumference doesn't change the generator speed at all, or a VERY small amount.

(Unless you are talking about a smaller friction drive wheel on the actual generator, then you are correct)

I have a question, I have one engine that has a seperate positive wire from the stator that ran lights, with no battery or alternator, they obviously got brighter with more rpms, and dimmer with less.....so why could I not do the same thing with my new motor, solder in a wire where the plug wire attaches and run lights off that?
