The may be chinese clones but, they're still torque converters

No burst bubble, They are the Chinese manufactured clones, I used to pay $175 each for an incomplete kit from them before the cost of posting it to anyone in Australia. The US ones are dearer but they are better quality. If people are happy with the clones, so be it

The GTC clutches are Chinese clutches too. Read our post on that subject and whatnot. However its just fine to post adverts, we welcome suppliers. Hopefully you can post some wench designs and join the community of karting enthusiasts.

Not trying to knock what you are doing, but-
1. GTC are comet clones.

2. $390 au is over $400 us. You can buy a genuine comet tav2 for under $200 us. Shipping would be under $100 us. For under $300us you can have a genuine comet torque converter shipped to your door.
Surely if you are importing these units in bulk you can get a deal, and make a profit from the difference in price between this and the retail price?

Who are you kidding? Shipping from US to Australia is astronomical. I've seen some products where the shipping is twice the price of the item

Yeah pretty much GST and Shipping is a killer, I could cut the price a little by charging for shipping after GST but to be honest I'm not looking to make a big profit or anything. GTC have a lot of stuff and we can't get it here in Australia without an official dealer, so I became one. I'll be expanding the range as I go, this is only a start so I'm hoping the prices can come down as I can hold more stock.

You guys are paying a ton for shipping! I shipped an entire motorcycle exhaust system to New Zealand for $115 USD. I used USPS, the box weighed about 20lbs, and was nearly as big as me. After I sent it I got an e-mail 10 days later saying that it had arrived.

I just checked, my GTC TC2 fits in a USPS medium flat-rate box. USPS.com says it will take 6-10 business days and will cost $47.95 USD. That is still expensive, but certainly below the $100 mark r-chez mentioned.

I know you guys have it tough getting parts, and I do want to help out. I'm just trying to show you that small-ish parts like a CVT can be shipped at reasonable prices, considering they are going half way around the world.

Just realised- shipping from the US to AU is the same as US to UK. Stop complaining

My statement still stands-
$195 for a genuine tav2
$50 shipping
$245 + any tax
which is around $230 AU + tax. No way is tax $100. Apparently it is 15%, which is about $40. So total around $270 if they even bother with tax (they did with me when I imported a torque converter to the UK.)

Still way under $400.

the big problem down here is the market is not that big. So if you are importing and selling in low volume, obviously you need a decent margin to make it worth while.

for example the maxtorque clutch guy here in nz sells them for $113. I could buy one on ebay and have it shipped to my doorstep for roughly half that buuuutttt once you sit down and think about it that guy is not gunna get rich selling a couple hundred clutches a year. If he was in europe/america/asia he could sell thousands with a much smaller mark up

Hey! I don't know where you're finding clutches at 25 bucks a piece but I'd love to talk to their suppliers.

We've had to up our prices to 37 a clutch a bit ago and our customers are still pretty happy with that price.
