yes but take into account shipping cost. Tax on importing. Sales tax, i assume the advertised online usa price does not include this as it would depend on who they were selling to and which state they were selling out of. Where as over here sales tax is 15% and must be included in the advertised price. Also business tax rates may differ which would affect how much profit he would want to make. Also business expenses are higher here- rent, utilities, petrol, etc.

at the end of the day the guys gotta make a decent profit otherwise there is no point in him importing them. If you think you can do it cheaper and make money then do it and take all his customers away?

I think the real problem is the lack of a big importer. If a big hardware chain started stocking basic go kart stuff the prices would drop dramatically because the stuff would be coming in bulk via a wholesaler who could also sell to smaller businesses....Point here is that we Aussies need to nag bunnings warehouse to sell go kart parts hahaha

Sexyvicta has it right here, If someone can do them cheaper then by all means go ahead, To be honest the time that goes into some of this stuff I'll make better money pouring beers at a pub or working at a supermarket. The fact is there is no GTC dealer yet in Australia, I have decided to do it and no it isn't a decent profit. I want to have the products available and have set the prices to a sustainable level to keep it going.

Cheers,
Joel

Hey Guys,

I've been able to make some significant improvements on the cost of the clutches and torque converters :D also I've added K&N engine mods and a billet flywheel.

Cheers,
Joel.
