When I say "complain about 2 strokes" i mean.. Why do they complain about not being able to find them anymore blah blah blah? It's a fortunate thing that the EPA exists, or there'd be 2 strokes in 2 times the applications literally. I don't blame the EPA and neither should anyone else. There's obviously plenty of reasons why they should be reconstructed in such a way that they pollute no more than a 4 stroke engine. A quick google search will explain why they're so bad for the air we breathe. We only have one ozone layer, and we're doin a dammmm good job or screwin it up in a short time.

Yet another sucker that believes everything the media and government tells him.

Do you even know what the ozone layer does and how it's been damaged? It's not from greenhouse gasses or emissions, it's from chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's), which used to be found in aerosols. They aren't anymore.

That's a good point. Lol. We should be figuring out ways to make energy w/o these emissions.

There's a drawback to everything. Most of the "green" stuff is actually extremely harmful to the environment. Take lightbulbs for example: although compact florescent bulbs (CFL's) use significantly less energy than incandescents, they require more energy to produce, contain more material, weigh more, and contain hazardous material (mercury).

And- Global warming is a crock o' spit, too. I've said it before, I'll say it again. It wasn't my car that wiped out the dinosaurs.

Aside frome the smoke, did they teach you the "circle" in school? We inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, plants inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen? If you are so worried, grow a garden, like me.

The smoke is a different issue.

Why is it that we don't have 2 strokes? It's because people like you reckon my lawn mower is gona kill everyone and likes to beat seal pups to death in it's spare time and steals grannies hand bags....

Now global warming is happening, that's a fact.... But it's a natural cycle, as more and more living things exist the hotter the earth gets until it gets hot enough to make life to hard for those living things and they get wiped out (not all, obviously) the world starts to cool, as it gets cooler the creatures thrive and the whole thing repeats.

Or something like that anyway....

Whether or not we are actually influencing global warming, I think we are but not nearly as much as many think.

The whole eco movement is the greatest thing to happen to the consumer world since forever, a company can now reliably sell a product to a gullible/ignorant customer for twice the price with practically no difference. Because of that, of course "green" is being pushed, and pushed hard.

Just look at Prius's, more pollution goes into making any modern car than the car will make in its usable life. If you take that, throw twice the wiring, a big arse battery and an electric motor in then you may as well be giving those poor little seal pups an uppercut.

After all that crap, it's not even that good on fuel or particularly special emmisions wise!

Goes to show, if you can make a customer think a certain thing then they wont do any research or look into any other options.

Thanks

Hayden

as much as i love cheap twostrokes they are bad for your health in large doses. All well in good everybody using a twostroke weedeater on a saturday morning but things arn't too nice in some of those developing countries when there are millions of mopeds etc driving around everyday. Google particulate matter emissions

And We can't buy a methonal engine now days, why because someone came up with the idea that they polute less. Well my methonal raptor produces less polutions than a stock one.

Apparently dinosaurs contributed to their own demise. Through natural proccesses too. Emissions I guess you could say lol!! I blame cows for today's problems lol.

Methanol engine guzzle fuel. Why? Because the stoichiometric ratio of methanol is 6.4:1. Gasoline is 14.7:1.

The equation for methanol combustion is 2CH3OH + 3O2 → 2CO2 + 4H2O + heat.

Whether or not methanol engine pollute less would depend on your definition of pollution. Although the formula for Gasoline would be far too complex and would vary greatly, I suspect that the CO2 productions between gasoline and methanol wouldn't be that different. Methanol is a single compound, though, while gasoline is a myriad of organic and inorganic molecules, so gasoline produces significantly more particulate than simpler fuels.

Global warming (or cooling), or what is slightly more correctly referred to as "climate change" is entirely beyond our control. The earth does what it wants to, when it wants to. History has proven that, and more than once- long before human occupancy could have affected things. Long before human occupancy, period. Make no mistake- I'm NOT saying, "let's do our best to pollute the planet". What I AM saying is that the bleeding-heart left hasn't fooled ME. Nice try, though...

All of this doesnt bother me, whether its happening because of us or not the eco movement is beneficial to us. Sure its stupid to ban 2 strokes, realistically they arent overly common, except for really small engines, and are much less of an issue than probably 20 years ago.

I look at it this way.....The torque curve of an electric motor is linear.....Which means more fun mwahaha. As soon as power storage is up to scratch electric power will be so much better. Oh, and eco friendly things are cheaper to run lol

The reason people still want 2 strokes is because they produce significantly more power per pound of weight than most 4-strokes along with more torque because of having twice the power strokes at the same rpm's. Most countries don't have Emission Nazis like the EPA abusing their power.

I will just throw in my opinion-
Global warming is a natural process, sure, however, since the industrial revolution carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have risen significantly more than it naturally would have done, therefore we are speeding up the process.
How much is debatable.

However, a larger concern is the lack of resources and the price of energy. The more we burn, the less we have. By the end of the century we are going to be out of oil and gas, and low on nuclear reserves. Rare earths will also be far more expensive.

Therefore, I believe we should try and be more efficient and 'sustainable', so the future generations can have the privileges we have. To me, being more efficient does not involve buying bull**** energy 'efficient' florescent lightbulbs, or drive around in lithium packed electric cars. Nor should we put photovoltaics on our roofs, which are full of more rare earths, and have unsustainable government subsidies.

Instead, we should limit our journeys, and keep the old cars running instea of scrapping them for a £2000 government grant. We should try to increase the efficiency of the internal combustion engine whilst looking for alternative sources of energy, such as nuclear fusion (not for a car!)

Also, electric cookers and heating is the least efficient method possible. When installing heating, more people should install fuel burners because electricity is under 30% efficient by the time it gets to your home. Burning fuels in situ is arguably 100% efficient because the main source of wasted energy is heat.

We can also grow plants as mentioned above, as this is the most effective eay of increasing O2 levels.

Also, there has been evidence found in Mexico that the dinosaurs died out due to a meteorite impact 65MA. Iridium, shocks quartz and dust is found in the KT boundary.

Just remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Walk around Manila Philippines for a day. I know what you are talking about.

I still say the left wing green nuts can go to hell though. It is one thing to care sure. But the left wing nuts are crazy and hurting things more than they do good. Driving millions of jobs to China.

It's all about warm and fuzzy feal good fealings.

This is how I see it and nobody is going to change my mind. The best part is around 4.21 or so.
