picked up this bike with a 3.5 horse yellow cover briggs flathead for $20

going with a brand new predator 212 insteadof the little old briggs. leaving it 100% stock for reliability and low noise. (this thing is amazingly quiet) and the price i couldnt beat. straight trade for the tired briggs 3.5. came to me sealed in the box. ;)

i've got some hydro brakes from my old rm250 (motor was a doner for my shifter kart)

also seriously considering putting the rm250 wheels and tires on it for ground clearance and badassery

$20! what the crap. Id give ya $25!
:D

Personally, I think them big wheels would look retarded, that just me though.
I would just look for some larger tires to fir those rims.

{EDIT} Ground clearance? What the crap you plan on driving over?:roflol:

i looked around for a while and i can only get 1 inch bigger tires for the 5" wheels.
and getting new, larger wheels and some bigger tires will blow the cost way up.

ill see what other tires i can find used locally. the front dirtbike tire looks good on the fork but the rear is kinda funny. ill post more pics when i get some kinda axle in there.

Thats an amazing price! Personally though I think those wheels look bad! Too big and narrow for a mini bike.

It looks ridiculous, but so do some of the guys here! :cheers2: Kidding! But despite how ludicrous it is, I kind of like it!

You are going to have to do some fabrication to get those wheels to fit. I see that you do not have enough clearance for either the front of the back wheels to use the same axle connection points. If you got wheels a few inches smaller, you wouldn't have any work to do.

I also think it looks a bit funny with those larger wheels, but that is just me. If you like it, go for it!!

You are also going to have to look at new sprockets, and maybe a new clutch with those oversized tyres

Those wheels will ruin your gear ratio and likely get you hurt. The bike was a great deal, once you put that clone on there it will be stupid fast, you will be happy.

i rode it in stock form this morning with the clone and a 13-72 ratio and it does quite well. tops out at about 16-18 but when turning the sprocket and chain hit the ground which is why i was looking for taller tires.

i think youd have to mod the frame for those wheels, if you look at the front, if you lined it up with the hole it might rub on the frame

update: new wheels

mounted up the tires. 16" outer diameter

dropped a spair 60t#35chain steel sprocket off at the shop to change the center bore from 2" to 2 1/4" and redrill from 2 3/4" bolt circle to 3 1/2". water jets make easy work. mounting it up tomorrow (no the tire isn't touching the motor)

old vs new 11" -> 16"

haha it looks so fresh with those new wheels. will surely go faster too because of the being bigger and all. get her finished and post up a vid!
surely will
dosent look half as rediculous as a i thought, actually looks really good
i went with 16" diameter setup instead of the 24" units
when you get the tires all cleaned up paint the rims and all the spokes black like the engine and the seat. itll give it some contrast and look better.
The plan (as with all my builds) is to get the whole thing together and ride it hard for a full day then tear down and make it pretty.

we powder coat at our shop and im most likely going with a gold flake with a rootbeer basecoat.

wheels will be polished up and tires get hit with some rusted (works like a champ) then some good ol armorall
