Is there an easy way to jam the clutch in a way the jam will pop out when it starts? I know the clutch on my spree is like that, stick a 10 penny nail in one of the cooling holes to push start it and it auto ejects.

No we have already extablished that a drill is dangerous and doesnt crank fast enough to start his engine. I learned the hard way on a 3.5 Tecumsea. Unfortunatly the drill was fast enough to crank it and as soon as it started the torque made it imposible to remove and it twisted my wrist perty bad.
I'll bet!

I strongly agree w/Mr. Tyler on this one.
If you attempt to start this in some way other than the way it was designed to be done, the possibility exists that it WILL bite you.
High performance 2 cycles are notorious for 'kicking back' and can actually run backwards for a few revolutions. I've been thrown from a motorcycle because of kick back. Expect the worst.
I would only attempt it if I could (in some way) retard the spark timing by a few degrees.
Other than that, push starting would be best bet (and cheapest) as stated in my earlier post.

Push starting it could cause kickback and run you over! just pointing it out, but a 100lb cart wont do much if any damage, a 9hp engine could however mess your arm up pretty bad.

Yep I know all about kick back and it can get nasty quick. The morall of the story is, is that if you cant buy a starter and start it safely then you cant run it.

Haha, 2 strokes can be run backwards? I've heard that if you adjusted the timing a bit, you can run it full time backwards. It's not good the engine though :p

When my Clone flooded out, it literally successfully ran backwards for 4-5 revolutions, accompanied with a lot of smoke from the UNI air filter :D
