I am trying to import videos into Windows movie maker. It keeps saying my movies are not a supported file type. I cant can any of my vids to work, when they are downloaded to the computer from the camera, they are .MOV . Is there any way I could change that? I am not a expert at computers. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe if you search the net, you can find a video format converter that will change it from .MOV to whatever format WMM likes- whether it's .MPEG, .AVI, or whatever. Do you know what format it wants?

.MOV is a QuickTime/ Apple format, hence why Bill won't let it run in WINDOWS Movie Maker. I've had the same issue. I've found a program called VideoPad Video Editor and it's far superior, although it only comes with a 2 week demo. Which means uninstall and reinstall after 2 weeks to get it working again. I'm actually using it right now. It has no "alliances" to either side and allows for much more comprehensive editing, as well as exportation of HD, unless you are using WMM Live, which is on Windows 7.

That's pretty cool. If you like making home made airsoft guns, research a "vortex block" airsoft gun. They use compressed air and thousands of force fed bbs and churn out in excess of 3000 rounds/min. They can be made from scrap parts of dead guns and other garage junk you have. I never got around one making one but I have plans to some day.

Those are not any good as airsoft guns...

Tip them down, they jam. Turn them sideways, they either jam or don't feed. Tip them up, they shoot maybe 5 rounds then don't feed. Shake them around, they jam.

Then you're stuck with the fact that you're either stuck with a massive air tank or a liquid propellant. And those types of guns use a horribly inefficient amount of air, so even with liquid it would lose power and freeze up extremely fast. Ice crystals trying to get through a 6.05mm (pretty much standard barrel size) at the same time a 5.98mm (standard bb size) is trying to get through means jam, jam, jam.

Plus they have no reliable form of hopup (not to mention pretty inconsistant velocity) giving horrible accuracy at even moderate ranges.

I really like it karl. So simple but so cool.

How far out will it shoot the can?

I may just make one. But all I got is bottle rockets right now.

Just out of curiosity, is the rear of the barrel plugged with a fuse hole, or do you just shove the firecracker in?

If you want to take it another step further, you can make your own black powder pretty cheaply and easily (especially compared to the cost of fireworks).

Nice use of an old erector set though :roflol:

I've made cloud type feeds but never one of these and I feel it would be fun to make regardless. For a high quality gun with accuracy, power, and ROF, look at this. http://www.xcalibertactical.com/products/strafer/index.html Or Google, "Strafer Piper's Precision Products".

Don't even get me started on those loads of $#!^

With anything that shoots airsoft BBs a hopup system is absolutely critical for accuracy. Not only does it kick in bernoulli's principle to effectively negate gravity with lift, it also stabilizes the shot in the same way a firearm's rifling does. And we're talking little plastic balls flying through the air at a few hundred miles per hour here, it's on par with throwing a frisbee properly compared to just randomly chucking it.

Just for quick reference, my airsoft Dragunov has about 2.9J muzzle energy as compared to the 2.2 of the strafer, and with a top of the line hop system (strafer has none) and a 25.6" barrel as opposed to the strafer's 17", not to mention the fact that bolt action systems are inherently more accurate than automatics. My range absolutely tops out to where the shots are dropping so fast it's nearly impossible to hit anything at 300 feet. My hopup helps bump the effective full body range to around 250 with no wind, but with no hopup I'd expect it to be closer to 100-150 max (yes, they're that critical)

With the strafer not having a hopup it would require even heavier BBs to half provide stability and half lower the muzzle velocity to promote the stability. And low muzzle velocities generally mean shorter range, as would be the case here.

Furthermore, the 2.9 J of my Dragunov is a low guess. It uses a spring rated for 560 FPS in an electric gun (that's 560 with .2g BBs, not the .12s the strafer is rated with), but has a longer piston and barrel so the velocity will most definitely be higher.

You may be lucky to max out at the stated 'effective' range of it. And there's no way that would take someone down effectively unless you're crowd controlling toddlers.

And just brushing on the reliability - the Dee's barrel in the Strafer will do nothing for accuracy with no hopup, yet they are extremely tight, at 6.01mm - so tight many airsoft snipers use larger barrels. Due to inconsistencies in ammo, they jam. Frequently. Even with frequent cleaning of the barrel/internals. Pump that many RPMs though it and you're either wasting astronomical amounts of cash on ammo or it will jam extremely frequently.

The Strafer is just a rich kids' toy bb gun, nothing more.

I know, but it just looks like a fun concept. I like some of the Piper's Precision Products stuff. I too have a sniper. It's a UTG M324. Using .30-.34g BBs, it can max out around 200-220 with a light breeze. I believe that it's the 5th Gen. of the series and was when the bumped up the power. It goes in the high 400s with .20g BBs, but those are too light and tail in any wind. Also, the heavier BBs actually hit considerably harder than the faster moving light ones, the welts prove this. I have done a basic Teflon mod to tighten up some internals, but it's stock from there.

I had it open during the vid but today I made a makeshift breach thingy. I might make a handgun type of thing that uses black powder and copper BBs or somethin.

Make a firecracker/ammo magazine and bolt. Draw back the bolt, a new firecracker with BB in front is raised into place by the mag spring, push forward and it's chambered ready to be lit.
