The day finally arrived so I could start my engine. But one thing is missing, a engine that turned on. So Im trying to firgure out why didn't it start. These are the things Ive done so far.
Checked for a spark and there was.
Put a little gas (a little!!) in the carb. Didn't work.
Sprayed a little starting fluid. Didn't work.
But then my battery died and as of now its still charging.
So what can I try to get it to start?

If there's no bang with the starting fluid, that leads me to think that one of two things is going on. First, that the "spark" is too weak to ignite it. Could be a bad or badly gapped plug. Check gap, maybe try another plug. I don't have your specs, but 0.030" is a good ballpark. Verify coil-to-flywheel gap, too. Without specs, shoot for 0.020" between the magnet and legs of the coil. The other thing that comes to mind is that the ignition timing or even valve timing could be way out. A sheared flywheel key could throw the ignition timing out. Or a completely wrong model flywheel. If the alignment marks between the cam and crank gears are off, that will kill valve timing.

My old carbuator had a crack in it. So I I had to replace the carbuator. But I dont know if the engine was going to run or not with the old carb. So it might be settings on the new carb. Also I got the carb used. and didnt clean the jets.

if you try this and still doesn't work i would suggest tearing it down to bare block and replace all gaskets and make sure everything is in place!

The intake gasket was still in place. However the gasket between the intake pipe and the carbuator broke in two But put a tiny tiny spec of stick glue just to keep the the 2 pieces together before I bolted it back on. How can I find out if its pumping fuel?

Also I got a brand new 165cold starting amp battery. Only tried to start the engine 5 or 6 times before the battery died.

Stick glue??? I wouldnt trust that, new gaskets are in order, IMO.

No Ill have to try it this weekend when I have time. Back to the glue stick.... So when I bolt the carbuator back to the intake pipe the gasket gets stuck inbetween them. Will not move out of place. Or are you saying dont trust the seal?

the seal. You can buy gaskets, or cut them yourself, with either gasket material sheets or cereal box cardboard.

So when the engine goes to suck in more air and gas. It just getting air through unsealed gasket. No gas?
