Ford, GM or Chrysler?

north american trucks i must say FORD! toyota honda and nissan cant make a truck for the life of them! i would never drive a dodge but i wouldnt mind a chevy either

Ever hear of a Toyota 22-RE? That's an engine that hits "high mileage" at 300,000 miles. The old Toyota pickup/hilux was a ****ing tank. Honda doesn't make trucks(for the US market at least). I don't hear any bad stuff about the little Nissan trucks.

I have always and probably will always consider myself to be a Ford guy... But I've owned more GM cars in my life than I have Fords... Maybe it's cuz they're always the cheapest busted junk I can find and the Fords cost too much cuz they all still run?

Really I don't care for Ford cars... They have nothing exciting or particularly stylish. My vote is BMW for cars, Ford for trucks, and who cares what brand of motorcycle or snowmobile as long as it's comfortable and it rips.

Kenny: Honda thinks they make a truck...they've been thinking that for 5 years now. The Ridgeline is a Front Wheel Drive biased AWD system with a massive 3.5L V6 (from the Acura RL car) and an outstanding 5,000lb towing capacity!

I've already stated that I like fords, but for what it is, that Ridgeline isnt all that bad. I look at it as not a truck but just an SUV with a bed. And for that it's pretty nice. My uncle has one. Its kind in the middle of a truck and SUV. But for a Ford guy that's already taken care of.

I've driven a couple Ridgelines. I really dislike the interior and exterior styling, plus I don't think you can call it a truck with a FWD based drivetrain. An El Camino is far more truck-like than a Ridgeline IMO.

I really wouldn't mind a V-8 Sport-Trac for the reason you mentioned. It's an SUV with a bed for dirty or bulky cargo, plus it has conventional (strong) drivetrain layout, engines with more torque than horsepower...

For some people the Ridgeline makes sense, but not to me... No FWD SUV or "truck" will ever have my name on the title.

My mom has an '03 Sport Trac (1st gen), it is pretty **** nice. The 4.0 V6 is a dog on the low end compared to the 4.9 I6 in my '82, but it scoots on the highway. Drives great in the snow too, whilst still having enough balls to screw around in the snow when you want to.
The bed is even big enough for my kart.

still ridgelines are a joke lol, who makes a FWD based AWD truck!? honestly if you were to take out the AWD conversion, it would be a FWD truck! Ford's are still the best truck IMO

One of my dads friends has a lil toyota pickup pushing 500k (not sure if its been rebuilt, but it has been maintained very well).

My dad has a lil yota 94' pickup with a 22r , and that thing is pretty nice, its got some decent power, and goes through snow great. Just this fall we drove through 1 1/2 ft+ of snow to pick up a couple sleds, and it did just fine.

I was Ford and I kinda still am but after the 2011 models came out I want a chevy. These new "quite diesels" are killing me! who in their right mind wants a quite diesel.

Chrysler all the way, they have far superior customer support and primarily cater to the Mopar fanatics... gotta love it. My truck has superior space and power to **** near every vehicle I've ever ridden in.

pretty much all the modern vehickles lick, and all the good old ones are great..

I dont think anyones made decent **** vehcle since the early 90s...

dodge and fords are generaly the worst to work on IMO

every manufacturer has thier good and bad vehicles

I love my ford 2.3 turbos.. even though im putting the engine into my nissan..

I wouldnt trade my dakota with 425,000km for anything.. i love my 318s

the old mans chevy went through yrs and yrs of me n my sister punishing it.


I voted dodge,mainly cuz thats what im driving now, and the best vehckles i ever had were the dodges, between the eagle Talon, (my all time best most favoritest car, and the unkill-able 83 cordoba with its 318 and now my 5.2L kota, which were also the lowest maintenace vehckles as well.. lol

Im a Dodge guy, planning on getting a 1970 something Dodge military truck from my brother to play around with. Might even get to mess around with a slant6 he has (gokart anyone?) Theres the + of having an older brother who has had lots of experience with these trucks, and of course maybe bumming a Hemi off my dad.

Maybe just coming from a Dodge family has something to do with it? I havent actuality had much experience with ford or chevy, although ive driven them a small bit.

I don't hear any bad stuff about the little Nissan trucks.

The navara and dat pickups are viking tough like the toyotas, early diesels were very grunty and even the 90's upwards navaras/datsun's with the ka20 are peppy little utes.

Of course the only thing you have to worry about is crank seals, its a nissan thing, but if you change them when you see them dribbling then its sweet.

Im into japs and euros so i don't have a strong opinion, the 1.3 xl ford laser we own has done 340,000km's and all i have replaced is the rocker cover seal, and the only things that have been added are a set of 8.0mm top gun leads and quantum 4 prong plugs about 90'000 ago, very reliable workhorse, can tow a 6 by 4 trailer no probs and shes pretty nippy, can pull 120km/h in 3rd.

As far as newer cars? I will drive anything that is a good deal for me at the time. I will drive or own all 3. as well as imports.

I can safely say that I will never buy a brand new car or pickup anytime in my life.
Without getting into the somewhat more complex mechanics, they're just plain ugly. And cost too much god****ed money. And a bunch of this money goes down the sh!tter the moment the car leaves the dealer's lot.
I still don't understand this mentality that people have that makes them believe it is more expensive to maintain your 5 or 10 year old car than it is to buy new. You can rebuild the motor and trans several times in your older car for less money, and it's still paid off.
I don't see how getting yourself into debt with a $600 car payment with the economy the way it is is a good idea by any stretch of the means.

I figure building go-karts is a step down from building a kit car...

so i figure over time, i will essentialy build my own dang vehicle, and it will be nice and quick, n fast, and fuel efficient as it will prolly run off a motor bike engine n yadda yadda..

I realized a year or two ago, what i REALY wanted, wasnt a fast car/kit car.. what i REALY wanted was a kart disguized as a road legal vehicle..

the quickness, the handling, etc etc.. hehe

anyways, yeah, modern vehicles suck...
