Just my 2 cents here. But my 1997 Ford F-250 Powerstroke Diesel Is pushing 200,000 miles and it's still on it's original clutch, tranny, and engine. The only thing that has been replaced is the vacuum pump and the serpentine belt.

So as far as I'm concerned it Ford all the way!!

Ford screwed over my cousin, he was 200 miles out of warranty and his new 2007 truck had the passenger side window solenoid fail completely. They refused to honor their warranty though it was slightly out of state.

As an alternative, my uncle had a 1994 LeBaron, in 97 when the car was 20k out of warranty the rear window failed, the dealership replaced it for free and changed his oil.

This example of stinginess says something for Ford being business smart but they don't care about their customers...

I've had mixed results from all three mfgr's. I used to be a bowtie guy, but have over the years come to the conclusion that all the manufacturers (this includes my import experience) have had thier engineering highs and lows. I've seen things that really impress me, as well as things that make me think the engineer was off sick the day that part was designed, so the janitor filled in. I call it a draw.
