Dud, ... your the MAN!

It looks real good. Did you fix the rear shock mounts?

I noticed you have the three hole mounts on your shock mount. Just to be a smart ***, ... have you found ANYWHERE in the plans calling for the three hole shock mount we were TOLD to buy, or do we chalk that up to the same, "go buy more than you need so I get a kickback" mentality of the designer, like the 20 spindle brackets?

Man Grizz I hate to be the barrier of bad news but something is wrong with your spindles. Are both the upper and lower a arms the same length? The way it's now you have positive camber and you should have none at full droop. With the set up on that buggy the spindle should be straight up and down. I think it's just the adjustments of the outer rod ends.

Theo,

If you look at his top Hiem joints, ... you can see that they are out pretty darn far, yet the lowers look as if they are screwed all the way in.

Have not moved the rear shock mounts yet, but I have figured out the easiest way to do it, just wanted to get the chassis done so I start work on the motor mount. :ack2:

LOL, They weren't specified where to use them, but I bought them, and I finished the front suspension last, so I had to use them here. :devil2:

Like Bill says, I just slapped it all together to see what it looked like. No attempt yet to dial in the proper settings. I do know Tie rods are too long, almost zero Ackerman at this point :mad2:. I have them set to minimum length and still too long, I need to build a set of shorter tie rods. Tie rods I got from BMI have heim joints at both ends, that doesn't work, need yokes at the rack and pinion unit. I bought a set of yokes, but they add another 2" to the length of the tie rod. :censored:

4.5oz !!! wow , I'm realy wondering what mine will be, since I have the steel rims. This build is comming along great. there are a few setbacks but just hang in there. I have found that if plans were to easy then the builder would slap them together to fast and then eventualy not have much pride in the build because not much time/thought was invested. However when building something that has flawes that have not been corrected; this MAKES the builder come up with their own solution, and when finished you can smile and know that you made it work and that is what all this stuff is all about; knowing that we build't something good.....now for a beer.

Sorry T-man, ...

I'm not falling for that one. These plans were sold as, ... Here's the set of plans with a shopping list.

That's what I and others were sold, ... and that's absolutly not what we got. We got plans that were not correct and the shopping list was not correct. Buying things you DONT need?????

When you sell plans, ... you sell them the way he did, as complete, and with a video. It works.

The other way is to sell it as a partial plan, ... Here are some basics, ... you figure the rest out. That's what we didn't buy, yet we ended up with.

To say that a designers shoddy and incompetent work is a good thing, so it will make you think? In my book, ... It's just flat out dishonest and an excuse TO BE a lazy designer.

oh true... I have read through your guys threads and feel bad about the stuff you guys are going through. When I do designs and Im going to chang/leave something out I say it and do videos to let people know why and what I did. Spiderkarts seemed to be a nice business , they have been around for a while. since they have I'm wondering if some of the more senior members remeber anyone else building one of these or any of the others. I do know one thing, without good PR ( public relations ) most business dont last to long.

Fantastic job Grizz, you must be very pleased :) I like those adjustable shock mounts, did you you use them on the rear frame too?

I'm sure the Ah-crap-nid designer is aware of this forum, it would be nice if he showed up and took some responsibility for the plans.

Maybe a little, it is Friday after all :)

On a more serious note, if I was a designer and people were questioning my design, then I would want to defend my professional integrity or a least put my hands up to any flaws and address them, especially if it were costing me potential customers. Personally, I would just like to see the plans revised to prevent any hassle for future builders.

I certainly am Wobbly, but I doubt I would have made this far without the help and encouragement of others on this site.

I just had the one set of adjustable shock mounts, plans don't say where to use them. It would probably be nice to have a set on the rear suspension as well. I need to move my rear suspension mounts, as they don't line. Depending how the work out on the front, I may add them to the rear later.

He is aware of the problems and says he has been here and read the treads, then nothing from him since. That was over three weeks ago, and none of our concerns have even been acknowledged. :mad2:

Oh, I'm sure this will haunt him in the near future. And the only think I can say about that, ... GOOD!!!!

To sit back and have your customers figure out your design so you can do damage control later with a fixed set of plans that your CUSTOMERS RE-DESIGNED, ... and take credit for it.

Is pretty flaky and just flat out wrong.

u should improve the planes then sell them under a slightly differant name

An interesting idea, ... But My kart has been built by the help of many on this list. Without it, ... I would not have been able to do this. So, ... "IF" I make plans to build the Kart I am building right now,

THEY WILL BE FREE, Public Domain.

BUT, ... If the designer of this nightmare set of plans, ... plans on using ANYTHING I have done and incorporates it into "HIS" designs or uses my pictures for publicity in anyway, ... I will go after him. TRUST ME! :devil2:

Just think, ... if he had been a stand up guy and tried to help us figure out his mess, ... I would have let him.

Not Now!

I just feel sorry for those that have also been suckered into the Ah-:poop:-Nid plans and have not found this site. If I see these individuals, ... I will try to the best of my abilities to help them end up with a FUNCTIONING Kart. Otherwise they will end up with an unfinished piece of junk and lost a whole lot of money, not to mention the headaches and frustration.

The plans should come with a coupon for a FREE extra large bottle of extra strength Pain Killers.

Good news and Bad News,

I talked with Paypal today about getting my money back for these junk plans.

Bad news, ...

They said that it was not a tangible item and tit was not covered.

Good news, ...

Since the item was not covered for the full $34.97, ... They did give me half of that back, $17.49. :sifone:

They also said if a few more people complained about it and wanted refunds, ... They will discontinue the designers account with PayPal!

Call Paypal if you used them, if not, ... call your credit card company.

we need someone who is freacky good at computers to work out who it is and block them

also by theory if u redesign the kart and copyright the plans, then u can sue him for the use of your idea, (may be a bit far and unnesercery but in theory rigth)

i hear you guys have been having trouble with the spindle brackets from bmi karts well i got some for the dirt devil go kart i am building and all of them are fine except for one. the bad news is i welded it on already and its for my spindle so the bolt doesnt fit because it is bending it so what do you suggest i do?????/ it isnt that bad so i thought i could try to take a drill press and put it through the top hole and have it cut the edge on the bottom hole so it would slide through. + it is a very small part that would need to be larger. i any help would be great
