No. Not really. A motorcycle's gearcase is usually combined with the engine block. If you were to successfully cut it off, you'd have to fabricate a method of sealing the oil in, and still have an external input shaft to attach to. You want a motorbike tranny? Use a motorbike engine.

thanks makes sense but harley motorcycles have gearboxes that bolt on an u would have to make a seal for it but it could be done

Sure. Cost???
I personally guarantee you'd have whole whack of bike engine/tranny combos to choose from, all in pristine condition and powerful as he//, for less than the cost of a divorced Harley-style tranny.
You couldn't get a stolen harley tranny for what I paid for a complete, running Yamaha XV250 with 5 forward gears and twice the power of my Honda GX340. And as one piece, you don't have to figure out how to mate them. Likely smaller and lighter, too.

just search it
someone used two tensioner clutches as gears
u engage the first (which is geared low) to get moving
then u unengage the first and engage the senond (which is geared high) to get speed

That's the whole point of a multi-speed transmission- acceleration and top end. Keeping the engine within it's powerband through a wide range of road speeds...

Here are my engine Specs, http://www.tulsaenginewarehouse.com/catalog/briggs/bshoriz/350447-1079.html

From the calculator it should already be doing 52mph, I entered that it has 10" wheels tho not sure how to measure the wheels but the diameter of the wheel seems to be 10" TEETH ON AXLE is 35, teeth on clutch wheel 17, Engine RPM 3600

Man, sounds like wacky gears but I think your engine should have the torque to pull it off and hit 50 with your clutch. (although your engines torque peak is probably much lower than 3600)

A few things I was kinda thinking:

Maybe your governor is set/adjusted below 3600... does it pull strong right up till you can feel the Governor kick in limiting RPM?

Or does it feel like it just doesn't have enough power to wind out any tighter?

Maybe you just need to re-jet to match your modded pipe and air cleaner. I'd at least take a peak at the plugs before swapping out sprockets: http://www.google.com/search?source...rlz=1T4GZAZ_enUS369US369&q=spark+plug+reading

How much do you weigh could make a difference too.

For top speeds you'll also wanna make sure the kart rolls freely with you in it, Those rear axle bearings need to be clean and well lubed to roll freely. Make sure your chains rolling freely too. When everything's right (and your rear tires off the ground) you should be able to spin a tire and have the axle/chain rotate 5 revolutions or so and sound/feel very smooth.

hows 80+ differnt on a kart then on a bike?
Are you serious? A bike is manufactured to do 200km/h. It is built to standards to be capable and not be unsafe at those speeds. A go kart, well that varies. If he gets a proper shifter kart then maybe but i still wouldnt trust it. I wouldnt trust those little spindles, tyres, 1.6mm 20mm chassis and no suspension. Hit one pot hole and your airborn and saying bye bye. A motorcycle has suspension front and rear, hydraulic brakes, fairings made to make it streamline and well do i really need to go on. A go karts made for a track where its perfectly flat, a bike is made for the road. If he takes it to a airport runway then yer but why bother. Like i said, you want to go that fast, get a car or motorcycle, those speeds just arent made for karts. If you disregard everything i say and do it anyway, good luck to you. I recommend writing up a will before hand though.

These go-karts were ment to race around a track and do 50 miles an hour through a corner Without letting up..

You can get hydraulic brakes on a racing kart frame..

As long as you put cotter pins through the spindle bolts you will be fine... i personaly would go faster with a little kart then a bike... mostly because you dont have to completly rely on your grip to stay on unlike a bike were if your going fast enough wind resistance wants to push your *** off..

Also pourpous made gokart tires can handle Alot its not like little yard kart tires that anything above 20 Mhp they fly appart... racing kart wheels are strong as hell even the little aluminum ones..

How can I get my kart to do 80mph? Now it does 40, what is the best and or the easiest way to get it to do 80, Thanks.

No offence but if you need to ask then you really should't be aiming for that. You probably don't have the skills or knowledge to build a kart capable of safely achieving those speeds.
