I have experience in engineering, fabricating metal, welding, engine work, chasis work, electrical work and working with my hands basically, But of course there is always more to learn and i want to make my go kart building an experience where i can learn and become much more knowledgeable.
This will be my first go kart, and iam not going to start by building a competition go kart first, i will save that for later down the road. But i want to make this for fun basically so i can do some off roading and maybe some cruising.
I want my go kart to be designed to be able to cllimb some hills maybe do some offroading on trails, but be able to just cruise around the neighboorhood,
i am willing to put alot of time, patience and some money for this project. Iam just curious if you would know where i can get some ideas for chasis designs or where to get some plans. I ideally want a two wheel drive kart, with a decent suspension systeam ideally(shocks). It will be a single seater, If i have to i will draw up some plans and see where it goes, but i might need a little guidance for this first one.

look around the Photo Gallery & Project Log section of the site, You can find alot of ideas there. If you have no idea where to start, you might want to find a cheap kart on craigslist and mod it or use it for parts. good luck

just go and read all you can read about go kart stuff, then take that and go to ebay look at the karts on there and see what you like/afforable style. once you get that down then start zoomen in on all the photos and see what they did, then take that and expriment with it on drawings/idea's, then just start asking around here for all the good old problems that you come into and well help, oh and all way post pic's that helps alot!
