YZ250 Custom kart

Hello all, just saw the website and this is definetly my kind of website with custom made go karts lol heres mine, its and old 5hp frame with an 82 yz250 2 stroke engine from a dirt bike. Let me know yall think or any questions yall got. and yes i know there is a lot of quick and custom stuff on this like the gas tank and wiring lol but it only cost me $300 i made just about everything on it.

Looks like it runs pretty good from your rear tires....

I would run an actual air filter and a silencer on your pipe...your losing some power there and its a good way to melt a piston...Unless you jetted it for a paper towel air filter?

snazzy kart there, I suggest you get some racing rims and tires at least for the rear, they could handle the 250 alot better. a;sp, whats the story on finding the motor?

Buy a UNI filter for it and jet appropriately.

The lack of a silencer, if jetted appropriately, will never make you lose power.

And that is a truly epic kart!

Haha yea now it has a k&n filter and and a silencer. Yea i got the motor on ebay for about $120 had a little low compression, but it still ran. So now im throwing in a 3rd o/s piston and rings in. It hopefully will move pretty quick now lol i had a feeling that the lack of a filter was the cause of it bogging up top. Thanks for all the comments guys.

And modelengineer, it will make you lose low end, unless jetted accordingly, which i stated.. I only own 5 high performance 2 stroke machines....its not like i haven't tried.

You're carrying some big stones to thrash a 250 on an old yard kart! Hope the frame is solid.

Just noticed the 4" band brake.......hope your life insurance is paid up!
