Hi - I’m Vicki and new here. I’m hoping I can ask a question about my YS 200.

I just replaced the battery and was out tooting around and it died. I smelled a slight smell but not recognizable. I’ve checked all the wiring and nothing looks burnt.

Other than checking fuses, how can I determine the problem myself.
Thanks

A ys 200 comes back as a keyboard.
Do you have a way to check voltage? A meter of some sort.
How long were you riding?
How long did it sit before you changed the battery.
Did you run out of gas?

Voltage on battery good. I was riding about 20 minutes. It only sat a few days before changing the battery. Plenty of gas.
Any other easy things to check? Thanks

What exactly is the problem? The fact it died or it smells? Restart it and see what happens.
Sorry, left that out. Died and won’t start. When I turn key, nothing. No noise or anything. Battery is fully charged and new battery connections are secure.

Thanks for the pic. It does help us.
Basically the key gives a small current to the solenoid and makes it give big current to the starter. By temporarily jumping the large terminals on the solonoid the starter should spin.
The larger red or positive off the battery should lead you to the relay. Then follow the large wire and it should go to the starter.
Try that and come back.
