myself. that's what. why do i insist on buying 50+ year old stuff and then expecting to easily find parts..

this, this is why I wish I had a friend that was a machinist that would allow me to use his shop or be willing to whip up a part every now and again..

I just want my god **** table saw to work again! :censored:

and someone before me decided to take a hammer to the arbor now its slightly out of true I was hoping replacing the bearings would fix it. nope. its the arbor.

problem being, I can't, for the life of me, find a replacement arbor! and the 3 machinist I called today want over $150 to make one!?

oh and my motorcycles cam chain tensioner got weak and decided to let the chain skip over a few teeth... never the least I think we all here knows what happens when that happens... this past week has been freaking fantastic.

My arbor. the flange I believe I press fit on there.

I really don't care if the new arbors threads/nuts are the same as the old, for all I care they can be something different! I just want a working and working right, table saw..

I'd say go for it, if a $150 to make a new one.
My last job, the main saw needed a new shaft, a buddy of the boss and the sawer sharpener said $300-600 at least for a new shaft.

its 7" long and made of super soft steel... like not quite Suzuki bolt soft, but not as hard as grade 5.

I fail to see how its even worth 50 bucks? :idea2::ack2:

unless it comes with some blow and a glass of scotch....
