Hi! I just purchased and rebuilt a 3203 yerfdog. Everything went well except for the front suspension. I replaced the worn out front shocks with OEM replacements as the suspension would bottom out if I placed a stuffed animal on the seat. I put the new ones on and they still compress way too much! The wheels are severely cambered. I weigh 200 which is not over the factory limit of 250, so I’m not sure what the issue is. Can I put some heavier duty shocks up front? What would you recommend? I don’t want to buy another set unless they are going to fix the issue. My daughter (the intended user) and I will greatly appreciate any help you can provide!

P.S. I did use the closest mounting position on the frame and adjusted the collar on the shock to the tightest position. Still horrible.....

Not sure if this will help or not but check and see if the steering spindles are worn. My Manco Helix had two worn spindles that caused the front wheels to tilt inward horribly. With the front wheels off the ground I could move the top of either wheel a good 3" in and out. The original owner's son looked like Baby Huey and he must have driven the kart into the ground. Hope this helps.

Thanks

I agreed with Karttekk. I have the same model of Yerfdog and experienced the same problem. My front tires had significant camber play. Turns out the spindles were egged-out. I replaced with spindles, and also shimmed to reduce free play. I also replaced the shocks with the same spec units from Ebay. However, I added a bit of length (maybe 1.5") using pipe. The travel is perfect. Check out my build for details - I will be updating tomorrow.

Here is the pics. You can see the extension that I added. My kart was a little rough, so I had to choose my own location for the mount. Hopefully you can see from the other picture the static camber. I set it a little out so that when it has passengers, it is just a little negative. The tire wear so far is perfect. Hope this helps.

Edit - not sure why my pics keep loading sideways. I was holding the camera portrait style.
