hey guys so i bought this kart on craigslist and it seems they replaced the engine from the stock gy6 to a predator 212cc and added a torque convertor after several hours or riding i realized that im burning the belt when i take off and anytime i go offroad i burn the belt till it eventually snapped ... so i was thinking this might be a problem with the gearing .. it currently has a 13 tooth sprocket on the torque convertor assy and a 31 tooth sporcket on the axle which brings the ratio up to 2.38 to 1 if i use a 8 tooth torque conveter sprocket and a 45 tooth axle sprocket and bump the ratio closer to the golden ratio or 6 to 1 will that fix the belt burning problem?

When I swapped my gy6 out, the sprockets needed changed as well. I went with a 10 tooth and 60 tooth. I haven't burned up a belt, so change your sprockets out. I bet thats it.

That yerf dog is one of the bigger go karts. The smaller yerf dogs were geared for 28 mph and 18 inch tires.

This one is heavier and with bigger tires, right? might want to follow kevbo's advice for the 10/60, but my gut feeling is that you need an 8t or 9t jackshaft sprocket for the engine/torque converter to hold up to the extra weight and larger tires. Jackshaft sprockets are cheap too, so you wont be risking much by getting a few to choose from.
