Yerfdog 3203 Predator 346cc

Hi, I picked up a yerfdog 3203 from cl for $100 in pretty good condition. It would have only taken a couple hundren dollars to get it to a good running condition, but I would like it to be a little better than good running condition. To my avail the next day I was able to pick up a predator 346cc for $100 running. I have done enough research on this form to know that it will take a little effort to make the 346cc fit the 3203 but a few things I cannot find an answer too. Ok enough blabbing. I have a few questions.

1. I have found a 40 series torque converter with a 5/8 id driven pulley. I would like to know if you guys think the yerfdog 5/8 jackshaft setup will hold up to the extra hp of the 346cc and the 40 series pulley?

2. I've seen numerous threads about the pain to get things off the axle. Just looking for any advise before I tackle this project.

3. Do you guys think the 346cc swap is worth it? or should I sell it and buy a hf 212cc beef it up and call it a day.

Btw fairly new to karting and this form, but this place has been awesome for me. The yerfdog is my second build. My first build was an older kart frame. Dont even know what brand but after I push the dead axle to the limit with the 212 predator(almost killikng myself in the process)I decided to by a live axle kart. I will post some pics when I find out how too. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Fill in your profile so we can see where you are from, and if we have to recommend parts we then know you don't (or do) live in Vietnam

I am sure someone else will chip in here, but i have a feeling that the torque from the larger engine will bend the 5/8 jackshaft. I would go for at leat a 3/4.

You already have the 40 series, so in my opinion, if you have a large enough fabrication skillset, then i would drop the larger engine in there.

With regard to taking stuff off the axle, if hubs and wheels are stuck, make sure all the setscrews are out and all fastening stuff is loose. Soak in PB Blaster overnight and see if that helps. Have a look at THIS thread too for some other penetrating oil ideas. Mix of acetone and brake fluid works the best

O yea to clarity myself I located the 40 series on the interweb. I didnt purchase it yet.
