Look at the date. If you have to go to page 4 (or whatever) of threads, it's probably quite old and irrelevant. If you get a sense of gratification from this, PM the guy az he's most likely no longer active on here but a PM will go to his email most likely and he'll be alerted of your ever-valuable insight.

EDIT: Just checked his profile, he joined Apr. 1, 2009, made 10 posts, and was last seen on Apr. 9, 2009. I don't think he cares too much about adding suspension despite the 3+ threads he started, all of which you exhumed for the good of mankind.

For the sake of the thread and saftey. This model of yerf dog is a unsafe kart. it was recalled. The front steering is scary. The front end will fold sidways on you. It was one of Yerf dogs first karts. They missed it on this one.

you know i found a real simple solution to that. i just flipped the tie rods up top. little harder to steer, but no folding.

That's good info, bro!

Hey B man and Bighead, you two seem to know a lot about buggies, and you both like helping people. Both of which are desirable
character traits, so maybe you guys can help me.
I'm looking for a post on a Ball joint fix for my yerf-dog 3206. Not the one using B/D heavy duty
b/j or getting them from the manufacturer.. mcmaster.com. This guy had used a different type
of joint to connect the spindle....he removed the
weak mounting tabs and replaced them with the joint. I believe it was a good fix (stronger?) but with a little less range of travel.

If anyone knows where the thread is located
please hit me up. I remember the guy saying
how much better his alignment turned out.

thanks in advance,
swp

Thanks

Thanks Soap, I went with this balljoint replacement from
Mcmaster.com and man they got them here quick!

8412K13 Inline Booted Ball Joint Linkage, M10 X 1.5 Male Shank with Stud

I still need to have some H-D tabs welded on control arms, but these b/joints with large washers gave me enough adjustment
to dial in my alignment settings! When I do get the tabs replaced
on the a-arms I'll be sure to have az sloted hole for adjusting camber.

problems

update on the balljoint fix. I am having problems keeping the ball joints in position, they tend to slip at the connection point that has the large washers. I really need to weld in some new tabs with slots.

Are the ball joints/heims slipping on the rod? When I first got mine for my kart, the threads on the rod where cut by an undersized cut leaving them too narrow and the ends would slip when pulled. I got some solid rod and made new threads into them with a fresh die, leaving the rod's necessary OD large enough to grip into the heims.
