So after two years of nothing being done to my Yerf Dog i'm going to try and fix it myself with diffrent parts then originally planned. So what my older brother has done is weld a engine mount plate and drilled a few holes. When was to large and made it difficult to put on my 40 series torque convertor. He also struggled to put the pillow bears i had on ad even got the jackshaft stuck inside of one. Anyways i was wondering if i should just get a smaller engine. Thinking about getting the predator engine and a 30 series torque convertor with a back plate so no need to deal with pillow bears since it's a tight fit. He always complained about not finding the right sprockets when i bought the right ones so have to buy new ones since he put the one's i bought back in his pile of junk. Pretty sure this go kart has a 40/41 chain. Also a few other things he took apart but for not going to worry about engine and torque convertor.

sounds like your brother is talking a load of crap to you ( no offence to your brother ) because if your are having problems with not enough space in the rear just lengthen the frame by cutting it and adding some more material on it also what is a pillow bear?

Pillow block/Pillow bearing, not the cuddly type.

My brother always talks a load of crap lol. Maybe he just didn't want to bother with extending it a bit in the back. Now.. i don'tknow if he would be willing to extend the back.

This is what it looks like now. He couldn't get the jackshaft to fit.

Yeah go for the torque converter with back plate, not much room back there..
But hey if you can avoid having to get a smaller engine then try to! The faster the merrier :D

I just dont want to have to buy a 2nd torque convertor just for the backplate. I can only find back plates for the 30 series but if its something i have to do then i guess i'll do that.

Yeah gotcha, just so little room back there :/
I'm sure it's possible to finnagle (scientific term) things around to make 'er fit, would you do that or rather buy a TC?
.
Scooting the engine forward is always an option, but a time consuming one..

Yeah true just going to have to spend $75 on a tc and also looked at i dont think he put room for the sprocket to hold the chain that turns the tires AND no sprocket at all on the axle and no disc brake caliper! Well the right side of the axle the "teeth" were grinded off and i could never find the axle i needed.
