eh, dude if i were you i would go for the quad. its not just the motor you can get!:wai:. the quads tire and the gear box. i know he said the gear box needs work but. its worth getting any way. and you could just strip it apart and cut the frame up a bit to use the front suspension and rear for a new go kart.

That would really depend on the details of the "broken" gearbox. If the case is busted, good luck to you. If it only needs some internals, you might be okay. Try to find out more.

kk thanks i will most likely try to contact the person selling the quad and determine the problem with the gear box. And if its that bad i can always try to find a used one for sale.

The first engine you would need a primary clutch and the driven clutch. You would have to fab a driven to your frame. May need CDI box if it has one? Does it come with coil?

I would look for an older Yamaha dt100 dt125 or dt250 with electric start. You can pick up those old enduros for cheap. The motors are small and run forever. Look for a complete bike. The reason I like enduros is they have ES and are not way over powered for a kart. You can also look for an old ATC200 three wheeler engine. They are automatic (no clutch) as well. Air cooled so not sure how that would work on a kart.

You will have to beef up that frame if you want to add a larger engine to your Yerf Dog. Lots of beefing up that is. I would not over power that frame in stock form. No way.
