Hey y’all. New member here from Lincoln Co. TN. My son and I just got a yerf dog scout (yes not a go kart but pretty close) and also another go kart with a predator 224cc on it. The scout is definitely going to be a work in progress and the 224 kart only needs a couple things to have it back right. Looking forward to picking everyone’s brain when trying to repair some of the issues these projects have.

So how did ya end up here?
My kids are now homeschooled and of course we cover the traditional topics in school, but i also let the kids pick one area they wanted to learn more about. My daughter chose animal science and my son chose mechanics. As a result, we started looking into go karts so we had a project to learn on. We came up on a deal we couldn’t refuse on a Yerf Dog Scout so we went with it. Before that we were looking at go karts and see what it would take to restore them. After searching those various questions in google, this site popped up with a lot of the answers. Now we hope to get this Scout back in operational order and to have a little more fun on the go kart project he just got.

Welcome to the forum. Great choice Dad. No better way to teach your son, then on something he wants to work on. I've owned a couple of Yerf-Dogs. Never heard of the Scout. Post a picture or two, so we can all see what it looks like.

Just keep a healthy sense of humor around here (we all have one!) and you’ll be fine.
