I got this frame yesterday off of craigslist for $35 needs some minor welds done to the frame but thats about it gonna be getting the hf 6.5 clone for it and either run it with a centrifugal clutch and a jackshaft or hope i can find a torque converter i noticed bmi has the replacement driven unit and driver unit for yerfdog in stock and they also have the jackshaft mount that bolts up with the engine hoping to start on it soon selling my old manco critter gokart to get this one going

how much does bmi want for the tav unit? you can find them online for 169 easily. i'm not sure that your yerf uses any special one, but it may be the case.

they want 75 for the driver 72 for the driven unit figured this might be a good deal being that comet was out of business but if i can find the whole thing for around 169 i might just go with that

on that, the tav is not the setup you need. BUT you may be able to use it if you flip your axle over. check your distances and where the sprocket is on a tav. if they are the same or say 1/8" wider you probably could go that route.

A tav will work on it fine. My friend has the same exact kart and has had a tav on it for about 4 years. I've always liked the comfort of it even for having no suspension at all, but the steering needs a little help. On hers anyway lol

she doesn't have the jackshaft that carries the driven and sprocket? she has the tav kit with aluminum mounting plate? nvmd, the axle has been flipped already.

what do you mean by flip the axle? i was thinking i could use the aluminum mounting plate to mount the driven unit and run it like the other yerf dog go kart we have should have my other go kart sold tomorrow so i can start ordering parts lol

when running the stock torque converter, the driven pulley and sprocket are on opposite ends of a jackshaft, that j/s's bearings are housed in a tube which has a plate welded to it and bolts under the engine. if that is the proper unit, then the sprocket should be on the right side of the motor mount plate. as your sprocket is on the left side, assuming it utilizes the afore mentioned j/s, the axle has been flipped end over end, and reattached to the frame. i was just about to do this to mine. i bought the belt instead.

Since last time I posted on here My friend welded the back end of the black frame to the yellow frame and here is the end result. It can get through pretty much anything and can climb hills pretty good.

F***k what other people say. It's yours, it does what you want it to do,and probably quite quickly with that motor on it. Maybe when you get the time strip it down and spray it with some duplicolor if you want. If it works go drive it and have fun!
