I just put the battery on front. I lost the thread in the site crash. But I will look it up for you. Here some pics of the battery set up.
The front steering was recalled. It has to do how the spindle are are set up. Blaze will know much more. I still have to do this mod to mine. If I recall right Blaze has one of these to do. He is going to take some pics and expain the mod. He is a busy guy though.
Here is the cached thread to my build.

This is what Blaze said about the recall.
Have you fixed the issues with the front steering? Yerf-Dog had a recall on the steering of this early model kart because of over-steer that fold the front wheels nearly straight to the side that would flip the kart, amazingly dangerous. They sent out kits to extend the steering and fix the problem. If you want, PM me and I'll see if I can dig up pictures of a few of this kart we've modified, we have to change up every single one of these we get in due to those problems. This was the second model of kart introduced by Godfrey and wasn't quite right up there. They really did great trying to fix the issue when it was presented to them, its a shame the company folded.

The problem was the size of the steering arms on the spindles and the position, you notice how its the same length as the main arm on the column? They need to be double the size and sitting near the wheels, the kit was an extension to accomplish this.
Over-steering in this kart is in effect of the wheels turning nearly horizontal to the kart, it results in the kart's front end locking up, which almost always ends in the kart flipping sideways. I'll check tomorrow and see what we've got to explain what we do.
This is one of the karts we sold a few years ago.

Its kinda impossible to get the kits anymore unless BMI has them somewhere (they did buy out everything Yerf-Dog had right?). We just convert them one at a time by cutting and adding what is necessary.
