Yerf dog either 3202/3203 ges as soon as I pull the pull start. I dont know where any parts are located or their specific names. I also have a brake problem. I bought it and the spring that goes on the cable pull thingy isn't there so there's really no brakes except for the Ace hardware spring which I believe I cut too much because the brakes still won't engage. They're band brakes.
Tecunseh engine model I believe is OHH65 spec#71711c Eng fam. 2Todd 1991ab DOM#0214cd6752 i have pix of kart on profile

That link is about minibikes! I need help for Yerf dog taking off on start and how to repair brakes because the spring or whatever won't pull the cable hard enough. There was no spring on it when I bought it off this guy and I've tried replacing spring and lubed the brake cable that pulls the band.

Regarding the kart taking off, do some maintenance on your TC and make sure all the parts are there, especially the brass bushing that the belt rides on. Here is a thread or two regarding maintenance

As far as the brakes, all that spring does is *release* the brakes. If your brakes aren't stopping the kart, then you need to investigate why - generally either too much slack in the cable or pull-rod, or the brake band is completely worn out and gone. Sometimes it's because the brake band gets pulled off of the drum when applied, usually to a bell-shaped drum or a really bent / twisted band.

To take the slack out of the system, you adjust the slack out of that cable where it mounts at both/either ends, and/or at the end of the pull-rod where it connects to the cable - whichever is easier.

My bet is that it's just worn a bit and needs an adjustment.

I boughtg some cleaner and cleaned the driver clutch! My kart doesn't have a idle screw and i don't understand the little spring system they have.
