That last ebay link is right on the money if you order two. Looks like one is LH and the other RH thread, but that really won't matter. Biggest reason I suggest a press or mag drill is keeping it centered and the work piece stationary. It's doable by hand though. If you don't have the exact drill bit you can ease it open with a dremel or die grinder to get a tight fit around the bung.

Sounds good. Thank you. Gonna order 2 sets of these for upper and lower. I am going to either borrow a welder or have a friend of mine who owns a machine shop weld these on for me. Im thinking he may have a drill press. I will have to ask him.

Just so I understand it correctly to explain to him what I want done...I included a picture.

I will have the a arm drilled to the size needed so the bung can insert into the hole, then a bead of weld will go around the bung where it goes against the a arm, correct? Sounds like a dumb question but I can not see exactly what he had done to his in those pics I shared previously.

Also, will I need 3/8 bolts to go through the heim? Or will it use 1/2" bolts?

Was not sure what the HMS stood for in their auction.

(Economy 1/2 x 1/2-20 Panhard Bar Kit (1/2-3/8 HMS) .065 Bung Heim Joint)

Thank you for your help!!

You'll need 3/8 bolts as that is the ID of the misalignment spacers, and yes the portion you circled in yellow is what gets inserted. Then weld around it.

You bet. Had planned to do so to help others in the same situation. Just got my parts a few days ago. Havent had a chance to get it together yet. I will post pics as soon as I start wrenching on it again!

I'm about to do this exact mod, just now ordering the Heim joints from the same ebay auction mentioned above (Economy 1/2 x 1/2-20 Panhard Bar Kit (1/2-3/8 HMS) .065 Bung Heim Joint).

Can someone recommend hardware for attaching the Heim to the spindle? Also, will the OEM tie rods be long enough after the Heim install?

This is a new-to-me buggy, lower ball joints are busted and the previous owner has been driving it with only half the ball joint, a washer poorly welded in place to keep the spindle attached. :smiley_omg:

Length? I don't have the cart sitting in front of me at the moment and was wanting to get them on order. Ideally I'd like to get some that are unthreaded all the way through the spindle and heim. If no one has the length I can measure myself and just order tomorrow.

[edit] According to the Heim dimensions on ebay the Heim thickness with the spacers is 1.07". So the bolt goes through the Heim then passes directly through the spindle, correct? That makes me think I need total bolt length around 1-3/4"
