Ok so I figured it was time to start a build thread on my yerf dog. I picked this up a couple months ago and have been working on it here and there. It is a 30032 and was in decent shape when I got it. My plans were to slap on a Predator 212 with some goodies, 20" tires in the front and 22" tires in the rear, and repaint after all the dents and dings were worked out.

This is what it looked like when I picked it up.

I got it into the shop and started breaking it down to assess the damage.

All in all it was in pretty decent shape. You can see in the last picture that the roll cage was bent in on the driver side which threw the back cage out of whack so ill have to fix that. The A-Arm on the passenger side looks like the PO nailed a tree so ill be ordering another one from BMI. Not too shabby for 200 bones.

Ok so I got the A-Arm in and welded up without any problems. You can buy these already welded up but im a welder by trade and enjoy it so I ordered them raw.

Here's a few pics of the new A-arm next to the old one.

Its hard to tell from these angles but it was bent up pretty bad.

So when I started this build I decided that I was going to need some nice size tires to hold me up. Im 6'2" and about 200 lbs. So after seeing another thread on here and picking the brain of fellow member Sinbad001 I decided to go with 20" mini bike tires from BMI and set of 22" Badlands that I found online.

Here's a pic of the tires set next to the kart the day they came in.

You'll have to excuse all the clutter around the kart. My buddy is letting me do all of this in his shop so I try not to take up too much room.

You can also see the Predator 212 box in the pics. I have the stage 1 Hop-Up kit from NR on the way and am test fitting the motor. So far it looks like it'll mate right up.

I wound up having to cut the hubs on the front tires down to make them fit but thanks to Sinbad001 again for letting me know this ahead of time. It was really easy....just took some measurements and made the cuts with a die grinder. Cleaned up the burs with a file and reinstalled the bearings. Nothing to it really.

For the rear tires I had to order some hubs...again from BMI (these guys are awesome)...to mate the 4x4 hole rims that the Badlands came with to the rear axle.

When the rear hubs came in I test fit them onto the rear axle and noticed the the back of the roll cage that goes around the bottom of the seat was going to hit the tires. I took the tires back off and realized if I cut the 90 degree bend and flipped it that it would give me just enough room to clear.

This picture isn't the greatest and ill try to get some better ones soon.

I flipped the 90 and welded back in which worked out perfect.

I got the Stage 1 Hop-Up kit from NR and got the motor installed. I didnt, however, install the entire kit just yet. I put on the open air filter adapter and filter, changed out the jet, and installed the header. Once I get the motor broke in ill go back and install the smaller fan, timing key, springs, and remove the governor.

Here's a pic with the motor and TC installed. I followed fellow member Jamyers thread on how to install this TC with the Predator 212 since it has a shorter shaft on it than the original motor. Went on without a hitch following his instructions. Many thanks if your reading this JAMYERS!

By the way....this header sounds gnarly!

So I got it all put back together and rode it a little bit. I was really worried that the bigger tires were going to make it drag off the start but I was pleasantly surprised. This thing runs like a scalded dog.

I still have to rebend the roll cage bars, fix a few odds and ends, and paint it but this is how it sits as of right now. Really really happy how its turned out so far.

Looks great so far! I have a buddy in Texas whose family has a FLEET of go-karts... they have one Yerf Dog which is the "runt" of the collection... I can only imagine how surprised they would be if you showed up with your somewhat of a "sleeper" Yerf Dog.

You have done an excellent job! Now how hard would it have been if you hadn't been a member here :D

It would have difficult to say the least. I greatly appreciate all the help that I've received here and I hope that I can give back some of what I've learned. Thanks again everybody!

HaHa I like the "sleeper" image and if I keep going the way I am now I'll wind up with a fleet myself lol. I cant wait to tear this one back down so I can get some paint on it.
