Just out of curiosity, why not buy a keyed shaft?... Instead...

Alot of work to cut a keyway... Unless your equipped to do so....

Very nice. Just curious, What made you run the "driven" outboard, and what is your alignment?
I was going to do that but I could not get a alignment that would not burn up the belt before its time. Went back to inboard like Comet instructions state. Please, anyone with 40 series inboard/outboard experience plz ....chime in. If I were to run it out > I would reverse the Drive clutch. Any other way seems to put the belt in a twist. "misalignment"

Tell you the truth, I didn't know it was backwards! The setup came of an ezgo and I just switched it over. But now I see I've got some figuring to do...

I wonder if I can leave it setup like this but go with the yellow spring. Someone with some experience might be able to shed some light for me.

I wish I had a clear video of a out vs an in. Nobody seems to shoot perpendicular
to the belt.
I know a outboard "works", I see a ton of them run that way and all the back plate versions do it, But if you look at how the plates move, it looks like the belt must go into misalignment.
Still hopping someone that has "been there/Done that" can clear this up a little.

Yeah seems like thats what the yellow sprint would be for, to apply tension in the opposite direction.

Okay, so here is tonight's assembly. I have decided to run a third bearing on the jackshaft. Check my log post for a video.

Looks good, I ended up leaving my setup the way it was. Talked to the guy over at the supply house and he said that all I needed was the yellow spring. Got all my stuff ordered last night.
