I'm a new user here. I have a Yerf Dog 3206 with a Howhit 150cc. It was running rough so I replaced the carb and the intake manifold. Started right up and I got the idle and fuel air mixture set pretty good. Runs great now. Only problem is when I come to a stop the engine stalls unless I keep it revved up. When idling if I shake the kart forward or back just slightly, the engine stalls, driving me nuts. Any ideas? Thanks

It's not an idle issue. I have the idle screw set perfectly. It idles and runs great. just stalls when its jostled forward or backward. So standing next to the kart when it's idling, if I grab the roll cage and give the kart a shake, it stalls. I've also ruled out and electrical short. Its definitely gas/air related.

GMAN3850-I have never had to set a float level before. How is that done?
So, I put the old carb back in and it does not stall now when I shake it or when I come to a stop. But I still get hesitation when throttling up which is why I swapped carbs in the first place. So old carb fixes the stalling issue but runs rough, and new carb stalls the engine when its jostled. Maybe a bad new carb?? Interested in learning more about setting float level please.
landuse-based on the fact that is fine with the old carb leads me to believe its not a low oil sensor.
Thanks

on the howit engines im not sure what the correct lvl is butif u open up the bown and bend the tab back some it lets more fuel into the bowl. on your old carb i would take all the jets from the new one and out it on the old one and see if the hesitation goes away.

Thanks gman. For $22 I can get another new carb from a diff source. Takes me about 15 mins to swap it out. Think I'll try that before modifying the tabs in the bowl or swapping out jets. Thanks for the feedback!

So here's the status of my issues. I bought the carb and installed it. All previous problems were solved but then a new problem surfaced. Seems the new carb was starving for air. It ran great at low speeds then bogged down when I really got on the throttle. Removed air filter box and it ran great at full throttle but we can't run it with no air filter box. So a took the jets out of my new carb and installed them in the old carb, gave it a good cleaning since I had it opened up. Presto! Run great now. My son and I also added an aux battery to run an extra set of off-road lights. No real good place to mount it so we built a battery box and installed in on the luggage rack and put both batts in it. Works and looks great. I'll send pix soon.

Yeah, I did make a float tab adjustment but couldn't get it quite right so I thought it would be easier to use a carb that I knew had the correct float level and just needed cleaning. With a good cleaning and new jets it sure did the trick. A learning experience for me as I basically bought a new carb only to utilize it for its jets. Oh well, it was only $22. Well worth the experience I now have in the world working on carbs. Thanks to all for the replies! My kid is psyched!
