Yerf Dog 3203 Sprocket Alignment question

Hey guys, I'm sitting here looking at the sprockets on the dog and the large sprocket on the main axle is offset from the 9 tooth on the jackshaft? (i think it's called a jackshaft...could be wrong!) by about 3/8" . It looks like theres a keyway in the large sprocket and also set screws to hold it in place. The screws are gone and the sprocket won't budge when smacked with a deadblow hammer. Do you think I should soak the hell out of the thing and then continue to tap it? Should it be snug up against the split ring on the left side of the axle? I know lots of questions here, but I cant' find pictures of a stock set up of this axle and I don't want to beat on something that isn't supposed to move. Thanks for any help guys!

is it rusted onto the axle?

It does look a bit rusted, thats why I was thinking maybe soaking it for few days in some penetrating oil and going after it again with a hammer.

If it is rusted then use wd40 ect.. or the sprocket. Make sure you have found all the screws and clean around the area, there could be more

All the set screws are removed and I'm shooting wd40 on it every time I go out to the garage. I'm gonna let a soak for a few days like this and then see what I can convince it to do using a hammer. Let ya know how it turns out.

Well, after days and days of spraying and tapping on this dang sprocket, i've decided to take the whole axle off, put it in a vice and see if I can coax it sideways with a bigger hammer!

Put the heat to it and it scooted over with a few bangs of the ball peen!

soak that bad boy in a whole large bottle of wd or pj blaster. than try to wedge it by putting flat head drivers into the hub where it sandwiched to gether and just crank and whack that puppy off. if all else fails, cut it off and buy a new hub

Hey, I had the same problem, Eventually I just set it up against the wall (I did this after I got my new one in. lol) anyways, i put it against the wall, took my big sledge hammer, and knock the $h!t out of it, And it went sliding right down. Made me so mad! I thought it would bend it, but nope. I ended up buying everything. Mine was rusted. brake drum, sprocket, axle. spent 53.78 total off ebay. only thing I need is the set pins and 1/4 x 1/4 keys.
You may just want to give it a whack.

Jay, this thread hasn't been touched since March 4. I bet the problem has been solved by now. Thanks for the input anyways but please don't bump threads more than a month or so old.
