Link to video I reference: https://youtu.be/IGeFOuWmsBk

My driven unit jumped the buttons today. By that I mean the "cap" that sits on top of the spring went over the buttons and released the spring tension. It is entirely possible that I twisted it to much when I changed the spring and buttons last week so I took it apart and watched a video by gopowersports on how to correctly assemble it. In that video I learned that the "sleeve" (pictured)is supposed to come out of the unit. Mine was stuck inside the part that slides over top (pictured). I got it out but after cleaning and buffing and even sanding both surfaces with 220 grit, the "top" pulley won't slide down over the "sleeve". My question is : Should I just tap it down with a rubber mallet and reassemble it or is that sleeve supposed to slide freely like the one in the video?

It jumped the buttons again today. I took it back apart and noticed there was a bit of play in the "cap" after I put the snap ring back on, so I put 2 snap rings on and it doesn't move up and down anymore. Hopefully it won't do that again. Nobody has any ideas about that sleeve? How it might affect the function of the TC if it doesn't move freely?

when i serviced mine it didn't move great either, but it works just fine. just make sure it is assembled properly and that the snap ring is in place, and make the big nut fairly tight. also make sure the spring is flipped the right way. it shouldn't matter but mine fit better when the spring was one way.

This torque converter is giving me fits. This afternoon the driver started sticking in the high rpm "setting". In other words, when you are at full throttle and it "closes", it sticks in the "closed" position and when the kids slow down the engine bogs and shuts off. I found some old threads where folks had similar problems so I cleaned everything and it worked great for about 15 minutes then it started doing it again. Does this mean I need new springs? Frustration level growing. Any advice appreciated.

I'm done fooling with this thing. I've read everything on here about how to clean and adjust it. I've followed those instructions to the best of my ability and I can't get the $@!#& thing to work properly. Since I changed the jackshaft bearings, took it apart and cleaned it, and replaced the spring and buttons; it just won't work! Now its completely stuck in the "open" position. It looks a bit sideways, like part of it came out farther than it was supposed to. "pictured" I think I am just going to scrap it and move on. The frustration isn't worth what it would cost to replace it. My question for you guys is this: Do I go with a Chinese 30 series? Can I use a 40 series with minor modifications? Is there some other setup that would work on the yerfdog 3203?

I know I've been posting a lot of questions and not contributing so I appreciate the community putting up with me, even if its just giving me a place to vent my frustrations. I didn't grow up learning mechanics and I just started messing with this stuff when my kids got old enough and I bought em a used kart. I had no idea it would turn into the hobby from ****. I don't have any mechanically inclined friends or family nearby so this forum and YouTube are my only sources for knowledge.

It seems to be. It has their name stamped on it. I can't be 100% sure all parts are genuine since I bought the kart used.

Everest Brand torque converter?

Everest Brand 3/4" 30 Series Driver & 5/8" 7" Driven Clutch Torque Converter Go Kart Cart Bike https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYC2QGB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_7ekgzbRGX5ME6

Anyone familiar with this brand? Best deal I can find considering shipping is included. I wanted to buy from gopowersports but with shipping and the extra $22 I'm paying for the part, I would save almost $40 buying this one.
