even though i planned on taking them, i didn't get around to taking any before shots, but it was a rusty mess with tore up seats, no brakes, rusted out cvt, and a non running engine...

here are some pics here: http://s629.photobucket.com/albums/uu19/dawnehale/

i put new seats, headrest, motor, brakes, lights, battery, paint, grip tape on the floor boards, pedals and passenger foot rest, straightened out a bent tie rod and spindle, and some seat belts out of a jeep wrangler. i still have to do something about the wheels. both of the front rims are beat up, one of the rear wheels won't hold air and one of the front tires is showing some major wear.... still having some issues with the cvt, it seems to be wearing right through the new belt i just put on it. i need to recheck the alignment. it's pitted so i may have to replace it...

Looks killer. I love when people bring karts back to life. Post some pics of your TC setup...

i'll get some in the morning so you can check it out... it's too dark right now. i could use some trained eyes anyway... like i said the belts being worn, but at my point of view they are lined up good...

So I see you got yourself that beefier kart you were wanting. Did you ever sell the other two that you had? Have you now got space to ride where you are?

Oh....nice job on the restore

yah. i got the other two sold. i still don't really have anyplace to ride right now and still no truck... but a few years back one winter when i had my atv during the winter i rode it on the roads when they were snowy enough to limit the amount of cars out. i figure i'll do that for now. i do have a way to get it around now.. i bought a hitch for the wife's saturn view and i can use my dad's trailor whenever i want....

it's still not as beefy as i'd like. since i was out of work for a while, i made a deal with my wife earlier this year. i sold my bmw to catch up on some bills and to buy her son his first car. the deal was that at tax return time, she'd buy me another bmw... i decided (and got it wife approved) that i would get a less expensive 4x4 truck and a spiderbox, helix or some other type of buggy.. wanting to try out a gy6 150cc or bigger this time.. i will keep this yerf dog for my son's. not sure if my daughter can handle it, but at least there is plenty of room for her as a passenger.

the deal was that at tax return time...

I LOVE tax return time. It is like getting a bonus when you weren't expecting one

It seems like you have all your plans sorted out. I look forward to seeing what you get. I think I prefer the look of the Spiderbox myself.

Edit: I JUST HIT 1000 POSTS. :wai: I have definately been here too long. :D

I took some pictures of the CVT here: http://s629.photobucket.com/albums/uu19/dawnehale/gokart3/
after taking the driven off and redoing it, it seems to be working good now... I put it up on a block so I could get a good view of what it’s doing.. seems to be opening up just fine now... do the driver and driven looked lined up to you?

I also took some pics of the front end. until today it's been dark out when i drove it so i couldn't really see what was going on up there. I still can’t get it lined up right... hopefully you can see if there are any problems there... I have the shocks set at stiffest and still seems to set too low, but with the new shocks i have (just like the ones on the rear), it sets too high.... just don’t know what to do here...

Juvius, I just picked up that exact same model/style Yerf-dog. That's nice work you did there bringing it back to life!

Where did you get your CVT belt? Mine has the 6" driven pulley, and is missing its belt.

Hey, I have the exact same cart.

Do you know if this comes stock with a torque converter?

I bought my cart with a centrifugal clutch linked directly to the large sprocket on the axle. It wants to take off on it's own when I crank it. Do I need a torque converter?

Thx!
