Yer Dog 3203 Engine Swap

Hello, I just bought a 3203 today and I'm going to have to put an engine on it. I just put an HF 6.5 on my little streaker and want to use one on the 3203. The guy I got it from said he tried to do that and the crank ended up being too short and the pulleys for the torque converter wouldn't line up. Has anyone done this swap? and if so did you have issues with the length of the shaft? I can always pull the motor off the streaker and see for myself, but if someone has already been through this I'd love to hear your comments about the swap. I really appreciate any info. Thanks

you will probably have to get a spacer for the crankshaft, but it works for all of us running clones with a tav/tc. i have a carter 2906. my jackshaft pulley also has a small spacer between the bearing and driven pulley. try the one you have and see what he is talking about. you'll have to get a longer bolt to keep the drive pulley on.

I looked and looked before I posted this question and I'll be danged if I didn't run across a similar discussion about 2 minutes after I posted it! I'm with you Mike...I'm gonna pull the motor off the streaker and see how much too short it actually is and then figure out something with a spacer if it is needed.
