Hello everyone. I am new to karting, but I hope to learn, get to where you guys are, and be able to help others.
Pretty handy with tools and mechanically inclined, but not much experience.
Great to be here and thanks for having me.
I think it's worth mentioning I am working on my first build. Which is an electric razor to gas conversion. Lots of headaches, and surprises but learned a ton and have a great time.

You should do fine! I'm not mechanically inclined and have no idea what I'm doing with tools... and the Go Karts are coming along well! Post some pictures!

I will hunt for some pictures that I may have taken during the process, but please be gentle.
I was not aware of this site nor thinking of documenting during that one. But I may have some that I used for reference etc.
Also I am at the point now where I will be putting it together. Waiting on a couple little pieces.
I know it is a Frankenstein.
Short story
When the electric motor gave out my son was tossing it. I told my grandson he should put a weed eater engine in it. It was meant to be a father/son project. I gave them a nice echo engine that would have been great. One day I come over and say how's the conversation going? Oh my dad tossed the engine. I ask why?!? My son says it won't work. Why?!? Cause the engine turns in the wrong direction.... Order! Order. Yes that happened. I picked up the kart and told my disappointed grandson I would do it.
Thus began the creation that I call Frankenstein. Which led me to want to build a real Kart with him after this thing is finally done. So see why it has to be done? My total ignorance on the subject, stubbornness, and the need to keep my word to my grandson. I realize it will be crappy and a major rig but if it runs we can build the real one. I have gutted a knock off quad runner, bought and eaten, repurposed, cut, beaten and invented more parts than I care to share....
So I will put up what I can but please be gentle.

Following up on Razor pics and discussion. I think I should make a new thread for it but I took some pictures today and made some questionable progress today. I'll make a thread in the regular forum a bit later on.
