Yard kart front/rear axle width

Ton of leftover parts laying around and I want to build a yard kart. I have a 42” live axle and accessories. Will making the front axle width narrower than the rear negatively affect handling or should I make it the same?

narrower will make the turn radius worse.

I mean narrower you will have a better turn radius. except at high speeds really wobble and hard to keep straight.

The narrower the front tires spread is, compared to the wider spread of the rears, will increasingly move towards the tendency of the thing to act like a trike. More scrubbing of the tires when going faster, and on a yard kart like you're talking about, the chance of plowing into a yard hole, dip, gully, whatever, when turning it at speed, rolling it over maybe?

I have a manco dingo and can say from experience that the turning radius sucks as the front is significantly narrower and it does do a good bit of scrubbing. Doesn't help that the front tires were smoothish though.



Here's it a few days ago, I just put 18 in turf tires on it because the 21" atv tires are on the mud mower, but it's definitely a handful.
