yamaha kt100 direct drive new to karts

whats up im new to karts. i got a yamaha kt100 motor and my sproket broke its got a nice clutch but i dont race or anything i was wondering how i can just make it direct drive. please help thank you. im very good at working on things and motors but this kart got me lost lol thanks

:welcome2: to the forum. You will get a lot of help here, but I think you are also going to get a lot of people saying that you shouldn't have direct drive either. Direct drive means that you will never be able to come to a stop without your engine dying. You will always have to be in the kart when you start it, cos it is just going to go flying when you start her up. Trying to start your kart and jump in it at the same time is not too easy :ack2:

If you do want direct drive though, just buy a sprocket the same size as your clutch sprocket and put it on the engine crank.

But we might be able to help you find a replacement sprocket to repair your clutch. I'd just need to know what brand/model clutch you have, how many teeth it had, and the chain pitch/size, (you could check that with an accurate measurement between 2 of its teeth).

If your clutch doesnt say what brand/model it is, post some pics of it.
