Yamaha badger atv four wheeler conversion

Have a few questions about project below:
1-what is the max length a chain can be?
2- will 5hp push this thing around?
3-can I add a flex pipe to connect muffler?

Have an 80cc yamaha moto 4 80cc quad or
four wheeler or atv which had a bad engine.
So I am putting a Tecumseh 5hp mini bike
Engine in it. I put a rear end on it from a kids
Chinese atv. Used nuts and bolts and metal
Scraps instead of welding. Only problem was
It set the rear wheels back a few inches.
Which brings me to some questions.
The chain is pretty long being that the engine
Is up front and I wonder what the max length
Should be for a go kart chain.
Also I want to use a Tecumseh 5 hp and wonder
If it will be enough to push this around.
And last I wanted to know if I can connect the
Original yamaha muffler somehow. Would probably
Need to cut it and reconnect using a flex pipe
So that it can bend in the new shape it will need to
Go. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.

yes a 5hp will push it fine
it will be more power than the 80cc u are taking out

but the 80 had gears which u have lost
so u will loose a bit of performance
u can get a torque converter to compensate

a chain can be as long as u want
the longer the better for the chain

but it may wip
so as it turns around the sprocket inertia makes it wanna keep turning
it leads to the chain sort of getting a wave effect on the return side

but if u install a tensioner in it then u should be fine
and i dare say u will require a tensioner anyway

im unfamiliar with this exact bike so as for the exhaust
as ong as the pipe is similar diameter then go for it
it is better to go for a bigger dia as this will increase performance

it may well be too small for the 5hp but u will have to see for your self
does your engine have an adjustable jet
if so u can fit a hi flow pod filter or k&n pod filter then retune the engine
this will also get u more power

Have to look into the adjustable jet. Trying to figure out how to post pics in here. Exhaust is same diameter would just be much longer pipe. To make exhaust fit I need to use flex pipe like the Chinese finger trap thing. Then I can cut the pipe and I won't have to bend it to make it fit.
Thanks for tensioner info. I will find one and add it wherever it goes

I wanted to put it as close to the rear end as possible but it only fits up in the front. I bought a newer slant style 5hp but you wouldn't have guessed it would actually be taller than the older flat head style shown in the photo. Way up front is the only place it fits without doing some welding

Yea I took off the tank and everything I could. There is a cam cover or something and it goes 2 inches taller than the older Tecumseh 5hp.
And then I went out and got a shorty spark plug which allowed me to move the motor farther back than that pic above shows. I will post
The slant was a Tecumseh 5 hp just like the older one.
