Can autozone check bike starters? I hope its not out, That WILL kill my drive to get it done.

Remember the triangles i had planned to add as gussets?
Pass side:

Driver side:

holes in the front of the tubes?

Lil more welding, And a lot more grinding and my front end will be finished up and solid.

Ill also be taking a sanding pad to the rest of the frame to prep it for either green or blue paint. Im wanting the new 2010 camaro green, But may settle for the paint that looks like blue anodizing. wheels, ect will be flat black.

As soon as we get the cutting torch up and running, Ill heat the high carbon angle i have, cut, And bend it to make my "Luggage rack", "Spare fuel tank rack", And will probably remount the gas tank onto it so its bolted on instead of welded, Because its got a ton of junk in the bottom of it.

Im also planning two KC or Hella lights down by the pedals on the front, And two uptop by the luggage rack. It will eventually get turn signals, Breaklights and running lights as well.

But if the starter is shot, I may ditch the project unless one can be had for cheap.

If you have a kickstarter, try to reroute it so you can get a good kick on it, maybe even build a shaft to come to the side of the cart. Then use some bearings/bearing holders to keep the shaft from bending.

Or find a way to get the two z6r motors, One for thiis, One for my drifter, i mean shifter project.
Only problem is they dont have headers, Carbs or throttle bodys or whatever, Air boxes, Nada. Only one harness, And one fuel pump. Stator cover mount is broke on one, Chain cover mount is broke on the other. But i can get the whole package for $200.

Ill check into the kick start idea, But id rather have electric.

Use your DMM (set to a DC voltage setting) to confirm how many volts your starter is receiving while attempting to crank the engine over. Hook your DMM positive test leed to the starters + terminal, and its negative test leed to the starters housing to confirm your getting a good ground.

How many volts is it reading?

If your battery or cables prove to be defective you could also test your starter by connecting it up to a (known good) car battery with good jumper cables.

Yup I pulled the stater and it's froze up. Guess it's time to try and snag one from eBay. I cut the shifter handle off, cleaned up that side of the frame and started painting it to see what the final color was gonna look like. After seeing how little one can of the $5 paint covers, I think I'll b going with the translucent green over $.97 flat black faded to just black on the back half. I'll get pics up, but it's same ol grinding

Well, Here's how she sits currently.

Almost final color.. Just have the "Motor area" and "Insides" left. Grinding that mesh floor with a sanding disk is quiet the task..

Im gonna "Attempt" to clean up / rebuild the starter.

Finally got the steering wheel assy cut off. Planning on putting a tube for the colum to slip threw to give it more support, And adding a clutch to it. Havent figured out what im gonna do for a shifter yet, But bouncing back and fourth between your usual shifter kart shifter with solid linkage, And paddle shifters with two cables. Hmm..

The guy im partnering with on this project wants to keep the clutch handle stationary.. Im trying and trying to talk him into installing it so the clutch turns with the wheel. The wheel doesnt turn but maybe 1/3 of the way so the cable will be fine. I tried explaining that it would provide grip on the wheel if i were clutching and shifting at the same time, But sometimes i wonder if there isnt something in the water here. Luckily i dont drink the stuff. Lol.

The backpart of the cage is bolted on for easier access to removing and installing the motor. I hope with the added gussets, Plus "racks" im gonna put on top for spare tire / luggage and a gas can which should make it pretty rigid. Right now the tubes slip together.. Im thinking of adding a bolt to secure it better, Altho it was a good fight trying to get the tubes apart with the angle the plate at the back hits the frame at. Hard to explain, But it is what it is.

Btw, The steering "Linkages" seen under the front end will b flat black, Just has some over spray in the pic. I was concerned id have to redo them, but it wiped off with a rag.

Pedals will also be moved as far forward as possible, Without binding the steering.. If possible.

Got fuel petcocks cleaned up as well! both are free-Flowing.. Now to figure out how to clean the 1/4" of sludge out of the gas tank.
