Im new to the forum and had some interest in this cart so i figured i should show it anyway. this is a diy cart forum aint it :) I used mostly old bicycle parts and a 175cc 2 stroke yamaha engine. Also some bed frame and a futon. I dont have more than 75$ or so in it just for the junk yard shocks and back axle and wheels/tires

INCREDIBLE!!! You should add an air scoop for the motor, a CHT gauge wont hurt. I would be worried about it being back there behind the seat like that.

thanks guys! i think i gotta tear apart the motor i think the first gear grenaded. also as you can see by te video the turf saver tires dont grip so hot so i might switch them out. but im thinking about maby selling it and getting a four wheeler im loving the new raptor 250 . ill have to debate that some more

Now that is a nice build ........ Cool use of old bicycles for the front end - very unusual, but effective! great floorboards, too ..... :)

I personally don't think you should sell it. I mean, compared to a quad, the coolness factor on this thing is way higher.

but raptors are bad butt four wheelers

They are moderate. Just trail machines.

Porsche930dude, i love your build, your ingenuity is amazing. I love that kicker setup too. Here's my say in the kart/quad thing, a quad is gunna be a lot more fun, and can get you places a cart wont. The quads gunna have tons of aftermarket also. The cart is really cool, but the quad will be better in the long run.:cheers2:

i have a kawasaki klt trike that i really like and iv always wanted a quad just really too cheap to buy one. but i figure if i can sell the cart for a good portion of a new quad its well worth it. and i dont drive the cart all that much i know id drive the quad like every day that justifys it alone. i usto make all my bikes and carts unique for their cool factor. but now im starting to make them alot more useable and its alot funner. I also agree that carts are funner than quads but the terrain i ride is definatly more suited for quads. lots of hill and ruts and things. I wont sell till the summer anyway if i do. If i still want the quad by the we shall see. thanks for the props

that bike was like driving a truck. no fun at all.
Good news! I picked up a quad today ! from craigslist for 100$ its all in pieces but were gonna put it back together hopefully. its a kawasaki mojave 250. not sure of the year. the chassis /suspention wheels and tires and seat are all in awesome shape. the front plastics need paint and there arnt any rears. the engine appears to just need a couple bearings and an oil pump. also missing the chain and sprocket but those i can get from the junk yard. hopefully we can get the engine going itll be a nice ride

If the oil pump is broken on the engine, the whole engine could be seized from lack of oil.

If it's not, then CONGRATS on the great deal!

IMO you should have built one of these instead of getting a quad:

But I might be a bit biased. I'm sure you'll enjoy the quad.

i can always cut up the quad for the suspention :) yea the engine was sort of seized from lack of oil. The bore is fine but the crank bearings are toast. should be fixable without much $
