Yak Grease and/or Yak Hair

I have done some forum research and it is inconclusive as to whether our Chinese overlords are dumping belts made of Yak hair and some type of grease or whether they are Yak grease and some kind of hair. Perhaps it is 100% Yak ingredients. Regardless, I am saddened to inform the community that the proliferation of poorly constructed belts has now reached the world of appliances, as I am on the 3rd dryer belt in as many weeks, due to the belts disintegrating while in service. Moving forward, only genuine Whirlpool belts will be used. All other belts are false economy.

I personally prefer the term Yak Fat. Just rolls off the tongue.

We need belt autopsies stat! I want them dissected and probed.

Poor Yaks. The Chicons must be slaughtering them by the thousands to keep up with the cheapie Amazon belt demand.
FWIW, I've got a Whirlpool dryer that's almost 30 years old. Had to have a fuse replaced about 10years ago ( by a Whirlpool dealer ) and he said, " the belt isn't really that worn,
but since I already have it apart, why don't we just go ahead and replace it ". Made sense to me. It might outlast me. Doubt that the YAK stuff had hit the market yet.
