Freak, I don't think he was being sarcastic... But ya, if I wasn't so infatuated with the Marines, I was gonna paint it sparkly orange, with a sparkly neon green door, button, and usb door. But I only have one, and this one won't get shot when I get over there. Lol. I'll post a few pics in a sec.

im all for ps3, ive been in sony products for years and they do engineer them quite well, except for when you can get into it and ahck through them, which ive done to my psp, the ps3 you dont have to pay to play online, we get mostley all the same games as xbox, and we have a simple game controller, when i play on a family friends xbox, im lost, i know its just like ps3 controller mixed up, but its alot simpler on ps3, we have the same type controller throughout sony products

PS3 all the way. More versatility, blu-ray, symmetrical controller, free "live", great graphics, internet, and...NO RED RING . The XBOX is a great system though, but the PS3 is just designed better, and has more options that you can use right out of the box.

I will not argue that the PS3 offers more but what I will debate is that your free live is worth it. What about the 3 week crash where 77 million accounts were compromised containing various levels of personal information ranging from full name to social security and credit cardh numbers? You do get what you pay for there. Also, a few of my friends have had their older model PS3 die with the equivalent of red ringing and this is where I do prefer Xbox to PS3.

For information security, the data on your HDD is not only encrypted into a unique PS3 format but is also encrypted unique to the console. This may sound good, but it's a royal pain. To move data to a new console you met Ethernet link both consoles or upload to a cloud network. How do you do this if your PS3 has a fatal error? You can't. I tried this with a friend for hours to no avail. With the Xbox it's very simple to move data via PC as the data isn't console specific. I modded a 250gb HDD to be read by my Xbox and was able to move my info with a few keystrokes. My friend is restarting all of his games from square one, quire frustrating for someone who predominantly plays offline games. It is impossible to do without both consoles running, it hasn't been hacked or bypassed, it's simply impossible. You can move files of endless code only to find your new PS3 refuses to read it.

The opinions I stated are only from borrowing my friends PS3. We where pretty pissed when we could only play campaign for the duration of the crash lol. What you said about data transfer is very true though. Ive never been in the position where I needed to transfer data though so I cant speak on either side. I do think that Xbox's die more than PS3's due to the red ring though. With all the new generations you would think that the techies at Xbox would figure out how to prevent it. Good point on the data transfer problem, ill look into a way of trying to get the data transferred if both systems aren't running.

The red ring is only an indication of a fatality, it doesn't cause the death of the console. PS3 didn't have as many issues in its early life and doesn't have as obvious of an indication system. It just beeps and flashes a tiny yellow-orange-red (idk) LED that flashes a few times. The Xbox's is very obvious and stays on til the console shuts off. Don't waste your time searching, it can't be done. Well, you can move it, but the new console refuses it.
