Hey everyone, I'm new to the sport
Iv got a kart with a WTP60 engine, I know my way around a engine but this is causing me some serious head aches, I can get the engine to start but it rev's really high, iv tried setting the carb with the rule of adding up to 2 on the needles, but this does nothing, iv stripped the engine completely down and rebuilt it, new gaskets, I haven't put a new piston in as I don't want to just yet just incase the engine is no good, iv stripped the carb and rebuilt it, with new membranes and gaskets, now the only way I can get it to start is by disconnecting the engine breather from the carb, other wise it just chucks fuel out the air filter side, I'm kinda at a loss, any ideas are greatly appreciated

Thank you
Sam

Is there any possibility of the float being stuck open in the carb? Simplest reason I can think of why fuel spits out of it. If you can post a few pics of the linkage to the carb maybe we can spot something that's causing the high rev.

Sounds like an air leak. Did you replace the crank seals when you rebuilt it (and all other gaskets)? A leak down test after rebuilding? Stock intake/ carb/ exhaust? Have you done any modifications just before it started giving you a hard time? 1.5 turns out on the mixture screw and the jet needle set in either the middle postion or one notch on the rich side (needle up - clip down) is a good baseline for most 2 strokes. Throttle valve should show only a millimeter or 2 of a gap to be close to a stock idle setting. Is that a reed valve or piston port motor?
