Just a quick one post thread....

Because there are so many Texans here....

There's a BBQ joint in Lexington called Snow's. It's only open on Saturday. It's pitmaster is a woman who is AT LEAST over 70...if not 80.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for my fellow Texans to keep in the back of there mind while traveling. Kudos to Franklin of Franklin's BBQ...in Austin for the heads up...(he's usually pretty useless.)

Actually....Franklin BBQ is located in Austin and owned by him. However, this little gem in a pretty much useless spew of information came from his TV show on PBS....but I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

Here's the thing: I can pretty much walk to a couple of BBQ joints....one of which I consider worthy of national acclaim....the other...pretty decent BBQ. I can get in my car...and drive to BBQ joints that HAVE national acclaim in under an hour.

Soooo...for a BBQ joint off the beaten path to get noticed in TEXAS.....well....it's a big deal...to be recognized by a successful owner of a TEXAS BBQ joint.....that's pretty darn huge too.

Only open ONE DAY A WEEK????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This can't be ANYTHING BUT GOOD!!! And just in case you don't believe.....remember....TEXAS is loaded with BBQ joints going back over 100 years.

Well it appears that due to Lexington being a "trading" town, and the fact that there is a cattle auction on Saturday's at 12:30, there probably is no reason to be open any other day of the week. Add to that the rent is either close to nothing or the place is completely paid off, so there is very little overhead. Plus 6 days to prepare BBQ, how could it not be great? The New Yorker says it is the best Texas BBQ in the world. That periodical is apparently edited by Captain Obvious.

Yeah....regardless...this like an out of the way spot in Louisiana selling seafood....ummmnnn...Once a week? Sorry...but...credit where credit is due....bet ya can't find such a place in lousy anna.

Which reminds me....I love chef John Folse and his show 'Hooks,Lies, and Alibies.' But he can kiss my butt when he says "Louisiana Oysters are the best." He needs to drag his tired old Cajun butt a few miles WEST and taste how good they are on THIS side of the gulf!

What scumbags the media are. After what has happened in Dallas and New Orleans....what is on the news tonight? Ft. Worth police slamming a black woman into the ground! 14 months ago. Was it right? **** no...Can it incite crazy SOBs to kill more cops?**** YES! DFW is a big place...you'll have to be more specific....I think some of the best is right by me....but...if you're on the other side of Dallas....that's like 60 miles just to get BBQ....unless of course, you just wanna visit and have a few beers....

Snows is epic. Only been there 3 times, and I'm telling you, WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Franklins? I wouldn't know, I don't wait 4 hours in line for BBQ. (And I LIVE in Austin)... I'm actually enjoying a beverage staying cold in a koozie from ... what? Who! How!? Summa -a - Gun! Check it out! No kidding, I didn't set that up!
