Im considering making my own motorized mountain board or scooter, and after looking on ebay I saw this engine that said transimission included, I didnt see on the lisitng if this means clutch or just a gear reducer. If anyone has any expirience with this sort of engine or can tell by looking at it I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok sweet thanks Kaptain, do you think it would be acceptable to power a scooter or mountain board? I know its probably not the greatest quality but I pretty much just want this for cruising around town with maybe a little bit of assisted offroad/downhilling

Personally i would probably find a free/cheap chainsaw and use that, but i dont like to spend a lot of money, i think it would be fine for powering a small scooter or skateboard though.

I was thinking of starting with a cheap chainsaw too but on my craigslist and on ebay it costs about the same if not more, so I figured if I was going to spend money anyway I might as well get the one meant for pocket bikes or scooters.

it would work perfect for you application... but these chineese engine are not of the best quality. so expect some repairs in the future... i had to repair all 4 of my friend's pocket bike engines (same engine as linked)

lemegacool how easy were the repairs, cause after reading up on pocket bikes aparantly you only get a few hours out of an engine, is there something that consistently fails or are the engines just poorly built?

i blew a piston bearing in mine... at the same time it ruined the piston and the cylinder...

i installed performance parts in it and never had issues but the parts costed me more than the engine...

but to answer you question... these engine are as easy to dissasemble as legos LOL
