Hello Everyone,

Ran across an older Manco LXT kart I can buy for $150.00. Supposedly runs, everything looks to be there. Owner said it lunges when starting out and may need a torque converter. What are the chances of getting parts for this? Would a dumpster be a better place for this kart?

Thank you

Looks like has a Robin-Subaru engine which if it runs is probably worth at least half of that.

I recently bought a Manco Silver Fox (606-b) that wasn't running for more. Cleaned the carb and replaced a belt and it has been a great little machine.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I picked it up this evening. Ordered two rear tires and hope to start working on it next week. This is an outstanding forum!

Nice pick up! Looks a lot like my Manco 2 seater.

Grabbed it for $150.00. Here is Phase 1 of the restoration. Removed all of the dry rotted foam rubber on the rails, swept out a bunch of loose paint and rust debris, leaves and ant nests, put air in the tires, removed the rotted seat bottom and board. Rear tires are on the way.

Could do with a coat of piant but, it scrubbed up ok...

So, does it run? I think I see a TC cover, am I correct? Have you checked it yet?

It definitely needs painted. Haven't washed it yet, just filled the tires so it could roll and cleaned off most of the debris that was on it. Once I scrape the loose paint off, wire brush the rusty areas and primer them, I'll wash it real good then try and get it running. Stale fuel in the tank and broken governor springs, but the engine isn't seized. Yes, it has a TC cover. The cover is listed as a TAV or Torque-A-Verter cover, probably a 30 series. If nothing else, it will roll to the dumpster easier with air in the tires!

DUDE, have you seen my sig?

Essentially, it's all there, it's simply a matter of spending a bit of time (& maybe a few dollars) making it all work; so far, you have $150 into a potentially $400-$600 buggy, don't give up so easy...

Yep, there was a bit of sarcasm there. I'm sure I can get it back to working order. Fortunately there are parts still available for it. Ordered the governor springs from Subaru Power yesterday, the tires arrived and the seat adjuster is available. Looking forward to seeing how it runs.

Thanks! Got them on eBay from GCT Wholesale, Deestone made in Indonesia. Cheaper than Kenda, good enough.
