I know it sounds like a personal problem, but I really am taling about my kart.

I'm not a sprocket man, millwright, nor an engineer, but I do know something about spinning things and lining up chains on sprockets. Is it ok to have about 3/16" of side to side wobble in the drive sprocket when it spins on the axle? I think the new hub I got is not well-machined and so the whole sprocket wobbles as it spins. Its all locked in and strong, but it seems like you could add a lot of stress to the chain and maybe even the torque convertor.

Go see a doctor! :arf:

Well, you shouldn't have any wobble on a sprocket that's mounted on an axle. It should rotate nice and evenly. Maybe it's like you said with the hub. Spin it without the sprocket and see what happens.

If it's too much stress over a period of time, you could snap the chain and cause unpredictable damage. The chain on a bike I had snapped once while I was pedaling hard and whipped me across the back, not fun.
