Wiring my series motor

Hello, I'm new to this forum and i need some help getting to understand my controller and how it's wired up with my motor.

I'll give you a view of my situation. I'm doing a project for school where I build and electric kart, because we didn't have the money to buy all the needed parts I went searching myself and found someone who had an old electric kart in a bad condition that I could fix and then after my deliberation I'd give the kart back in working condition.

I have a 48V 5,2kW series motor from schabmuller and I've got a H1DN Zapi controller.


I've added a picture of the power circiut and as you can see there are 2 relais and another part that i have no clue of what it does.

The other picture is the control circuit.

So my motor has 4 ports A1 D1 A2 & D2, A1 & A2 for the armature winding and D1 & D2 for the series winding. A2 & D2 are connected so I've got 2 inputs A1 & D1.

My question is how the wires are connected to the motor and why the relais and the unknown part is there.

Also if you have anything to add please feel free, I admit I'm a complete newbie.
