Fideo is going to be cooked soon. Did some chicken and wild rice last night, that's another fall favorite of mine.

Whatever it was doesn't matter anyway. We're possibly expecting rain/snow mix on Friday into Saturday. Just started our fall clean up today. So we could get dumped on with snow at around Halloween.

Seems like Chilli is the most popular dish on the board.

Something else that is really good is freshwater eel. It shares a trait with gator, in that nearly every bite is different.

They say turtle has 8 different kinds of meat, but other than tenderness, they all taste the same to me.( Maybe because I haven't eaten one of those huge alligator snapping turtle. )

Every time I hear someone mention frog legs, I get a little sick. That's like shooting a deer, throwing away the carcass and eating the back legs! Frogs have backstraps too! In fact, the toughest, driest, WORST part of the frog is the back legs. (People just eat them because they're easy to eat.)

Despite growing up trapping, ill pass on all of that. Lol.

I just got a Charleston Reciepts Repeats cookbook. $10 shipped used on Amazon. It has a recipe for possum in it. (I haven't tried possum yet.)

I also got the Charleston Reciepts cookbook. Both are really cool , with a lot of recipes, especially seafood. I think there was an original Charleston Recipies cookbook that came out in 1949, and the first Reciepts came out in 1950. Supposedly, Repeats more closely follows the poor man Recipies in the '49 version.
